Nobody likes RNG PvP Reward System

This needed to be changed months ago. How it got put into the live version of the game is pathetic. I thought it was a joke during beta. What's taking you so long to put a system that rewards time and effort?

It's been a complaint for months and you haven't even given it a mention.

Because the only effort involved in an honor grind is the time it takes to do it. If you limit gear to ratings, then you just have a rotating FOTM class getting all the gear before they're nerfed in the next patch.

RNG isn't the solution, but the offered alternatives posted here won't solve the problem

It's basically equivalent to making PvE raids have a 1/10 chance that loot will drop after beating an encounter. Could you imagine the outrage the carebears would have if they did something like this?

But I guess it's perfectly acceptable in PvP...

Except doing a warfront daily only takes 10-15 mins or even faster if you do a 6-0 on Huttball to get a bag, where as a PvE raid can take several hours and you can only do it once a week and still not get anything....

That's EXACTLY how raids are.

Yes, they always drop loot of some sort, but it might not be useful. For example, in WOW in a 25 man raid (I haven't done Ops here yet, so I can't compare it) a boss would drop ~4 things, maybe. So that means that 21 people won't get ANYTHING from that boss, and we haven't even looked at what's dropped yet. (Yes, now all bosses drop badges, which helps with this somewhat, but a lot of BIS gear is still RNG)

If you cared about progression (and thus were one of the first guilds on server to down that boss) you could spend days working on a fight every night, blow thousands in repairs, consumables, and gems and then the boss is finally down and that Best in Slot Affliction lock shoulder drops. The problem? Your lock is Demonology and your Spriest has his tier set.

Sure, someone might pick it up as an off spec, or as a go between until they get their BIS piece, but you have to wait until the raid resets to try and get YOUR drop.

PVE raids always drop loot, but that doesn't mean that the person can USE the loot that drops.

Compared to that, the PVP grind you find in a lot of games to get gear is "easy" because ALL you need is time, no dependence on RNG.

Again, no one is arguing that the RNG system is working, but if anything, it makes the PVP "progression" MORE like PVE, not less.

Once you get a raid on farm, you can do it 10-15 minutes or less, no fail, everytime. There's already some content out, and once they add more, you'll be looking at a lot of loot per week.

Also, you must not be reading these forums. You find people complaining all the time how long it takes to do the daily. the average for the PvP 3 wins daily appears to be around 2 hours, with some going higher and others going lower. A fully decked out pre-made is the minority believe it or not.

The Ilum daily takes even longer. Hell, I usually can't completely the Ilum daily every day because everyone is competing for arnaments and republic are extremely rare, usually non-existant.

So I think the comparisons are much more reasonable than you make them sound.

As someone who raided for 7 days a week for 6 years in EQ, there was never gear that nobody could use. If nobody could use the gear, why the **** were you doing the raid? Some went cheaper than others, but there was always someone who could use it. A new recruit, etc etc.

You may be spending hours beating your head against a wall getting no where on 1 raid, but that's only when everything you farm each week is on lockout.

Trust me, if there was a 1/10 chance at getting loot for a raid encounter, the outrage and QQ would be tremendous.
