Mazikeen
** Mods: please do not move this thread. General receives the most traffic which means this thread will be most useful in this area. Also, if this is sticky-worthy, please sticky it. Thank you! As it stands the primary area people go to LFG is the Fleet. This means people are, generally, RPing or bored while waiting. Many people WOULD join a group but would rather solo than sit. For this reason I have started a global LFG on Rubat Crystal (Empire side) and am proposing a standard to follow for all servers to make said channels easier to find I followed this pattern: [first two server letters/initials][faction]LFG So, for example, the Rubat Crystal Empire global LFG is /cjoin RCELFG Single-word servers, use the FIRST TWO letters Three or more word servers, use the INITIALS of the FIRST TWO WORDS These channels will not be useful until we have a decent population in them! Please do not leave them because you are discouraged! Also, pass your channel name around your server. We can make this work and solve some of the LFG issues ourselves, without BioWares help! Pink_Saber
I followed this pattern: [first two server letters/initials][faction]LFG So, for example, the Rubat Crystal Empire global LFG is /cjoin RCELFG Single-word servers, use the FIRST TWO letters Three or more word servers, use the INITIALS of the FIRST TWO WORDS Isn't including the server name on a channel that's exclusive to that server a little redundant? And both factions can have their own channel with the same name. Just using /cjoin LFG would probably work a lot better and be easier to communicate. That's how many servers are handling this already. Yours may even already have LFG channels on it. Edited January 28, 2012 by Pink_Saber
Mazikeen
No one has mentioned it on my server and I'd rather not take the chance of a player-created channel crossover issue if BioWare has not put something in place to allow duplicate channel names based on faction [Edit] But yes, you can also do a plain /LFG Either way, someone please take the initiative, create said channel and openly promote it! It will help after you get people, I promise Edited January 28, 2012 by Mazikeen
Pink_Saber
No one has mentioned it on my server and I'd rather not take the chance of a player-created channel crossover issue if BioWare has not put something in place to allow duplicate channel names based on faction I plan to fail, it reduces the chances I'll fail to plan It works. Like I said, it's already in use on many servers. One of my guilds does the same thing. /cjoin [guild] gets you the Republic channel if that's your side, or the Empire channel if you're Empire. It works just fine.

If it already exists and works, then disregard my thread Some, however, don't seem to have it (which amazes me) and someone suggested I make this thread to promote the concept
