Guild calendar for scheduling is a MUST

Wouldn't something like google calendar coupled with guild a forum work just as well?

You'd think it would, but from my experience, casual members never visit it, no matter how many times you tell them.

In a larger guild, a guild calendar can be a godsend.

WoW's guild calendar is the perfect tool to steal. It allowed you to schedule events, invite players to events and had a host of other features. It's key for organizing a large guild.

Which means you are asking for a feature that only a very small population in the game will benefit from.

Better to ask for mods/addons...that everyone can benefit from and let someone develop a mod calendar that can be used in game.

Even a guild with four people can benefit from a guil calendar in that the calendar keeps a schedule for them.

It can be a godsend for large guild by still a great and useful feature for small guilds.

This is a necessity for all guilds and a perk for all players

My guild has a website with a guild calendar, however the only people that check either of them are IRL friends. It would make more sense and be much easier if an in-game calendar was implemented.

It would allow for smaller guilds to flourish and larger guilds to maintain communication.

Bring this to the attention of everyone!

Bingo. It's really, really hard to get casual players to check out forums and sites. I've just given up. The site holds little to no information and I keep track of events on my own time or distribute the information through the MoTD. The issue with the MoTD is that I only get one shot with it and only with a certain amount of characters. I also can't really "post" events for the future because it would be brain damaged to assume that members would remember the times and dates.

I don't know anything about WoW, but that calendar sounds excellent. I would also contest that this type of calendar would be key for organising any guild regardless of size or purpose. Allowing for invites, sign-ups, and other similar features would just make me ecstatic.

Also, I'd like for them to bring in allies to the game and especially to these calendars. I've begun working with other guilds to schedule events, but it's hard enough to get members of my guild to come to our site, which means it's borderline impossible to get them to go to another site as well. Providing ally calendars, either ones that are completely separated or synched with each guilds, would be just amazing.

I'd also love to see adversaries added into this, but I don't think that would ever happen. BioWare has been unbelievably anti-cross-faction communication.

I want to quote this because it's pretty and true:

This is a necessity for all guilds and a perk for all players

No more thoughts on this?

There really isn't much to add here.. They need a calander so guilds can schedule guild events.. It would also be nice to have something that would show game events..

Bottom line is the game needs a calander function badly.. This is certianly an idea that isn't brought up enough..

/Signed +2 :)

Maybe I think an in game calendar is a great idea not sure if it should be a guild or an individual calendar. Obviously there would be a need to have guild events that members with a set permission could create for the whole guild to see these would allow member signups. Though I'd also like to be able to create invitational events and include members who weren't in guild possibly invite another guild to an event (requiring accepting by an officer or such before it appeared in the other guildie's calendars). Also would need an auto decline feature for say declining events from non-guild/non-friends. Finally would want the option of receiving in game notifications before an event that I was signed up to.
