560ti or HD 6870

I have a 560 ti, and I loved it . . . until SW:TOR did something horrible to it. My wife's ATI works beautifully, but my 560 ti system locks the entire computer while playing SW:TOR.

Normally, I would suggest the 560 ti - but in this case; I'd have to go with the ATI for stability.

The 560ti wins, however you're comparing apples and oranges. The HD 6950 is price aligned against the 560ti.

Although, you may be able to find a better deal right now on the 560ti and save a few bux with a rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401.

The 6870 is a little bit (8% or so) slower, but MUCH cheaper.

The 560 Ti is a reasonable card, but why get it when you can get the 6950 for a similar price? 6950 is a good 10%+ faster.

There basically isn't any Nvidia card worth buying, they are completely beaten by AMD at every price point. Not one single Nvidia card is better value than the AMD card at the equivalent price point, that's what matters.

I am a huge ati fan so my opinion would be extremely bias. Both of those cards are just fine though. However if you only choose between those two cards the 560 will beat the 6870.

I personally have a ati 6850 with a factory oc on it and I run the game great.

AMD/ATI chips are very fast at some things, but Nvidia has better overall performance. Also lots of Nvidia cards are on sale now since the 6 series launches in march some time.

I bought a 570 a month ago 25% off. But they will fall even more in price when 6 series launches.
