BasRutten Posted January 27, 2012 Share Posted January 27, 2012 I'm a level 40 Gunslinger and just started getting into the PVP warzones and quite honestly, I'm having a blast! The more I que myself up, the more I'm getting into the crazyness of it all. I understand I'm getting some kind of warzone commendations with each match and I am assuming they can be turned in for bada ss PVP gear. But I'm confused about all of what seems like several PVP armor vendors. What is the way to get the best gear for a level 40 Gunslinger? Which vendor do I use to make my exchange? Slovic Posted January 28, 2012 Share Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) The Smuggler vendor is in the combat training area of the Republic Fleet. It will be one of the 4 series of vendors near the pvp daily missions. You will be looking for the Champion and Centurion vendors. For gunslinger you'll want the "Field Tech" set. It has the set bonus for XS Freighter Flyby and better range on quick draw etc. Edit: I just seen you said you were lvl 40. I would hold off on pvp gear until lvl 50. Buy 1000 Mercenary tokens from the vendor next to the dailies or in the warzones themselves. Also save up 1000 Warzone tokens if you plan on pvping until lvl 50. So you will want 1000 of each token type because thats the cap. With these you can buy 5 champion bags from the vendors. In these bags they will have either 3 centurion tokens or 1 champion gear token and 1 centurion token. You use these to buy gear from the appropriate vendors. StealthNerf Posted January 28, 2012 Share Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) You can only use the pre-50 (orange and blue gear) vendors until you hit level 50. This gear is OK, but is honestly outclassed by crafted gear. At 50 there are three tiers of pvp gear - centurion, champion, and battlemaster. You get champion bags from warzone/merc commendations, as well as daily/weekly pvp quests. Eech of these bags has a chance to contain a piece of tier 2 champion gear. If you don't get gear, you'll get a few centurion commendations, which you can save up to buy the tier 1 gear. You can only get the tier 3 battlemaster gear when you hit valor rank 60. You can either give it to your companions or rip out mods and put them into centurion gear or even orange, moddable gear. You will not get expertise from it OFC but still higher level mods can be useful. Only thing that may be worth buying for WZ comms (except champion bags ofc) are weapons as you will get nice moddable stuff with expertise on it. You will be using that till you get champion/battlemaster weapons. Remember that cap on how many comms you can have is 1000 so you either buy merc comms or buy bags. GordonJ Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Also note that you can buy a single champ bag before you hit level 50 (just can't open it), so if you have the time and patience then aim for 1000 merc/wz coms plus a bag in the bank.
