why does my target keep changing?

This happens to me a lot in pvp and sometimes in pve. I'll have someone targeted the for no reason my target switches to someone else. I dont click off my target, they dont run out or range or die or vanish or anything like that. I'll be on my target then when i hit an ability it switches target usually to someone thats far away from me.

I have made several tickets about this and no answer so far.

 

Get in a fight in PVE, kill 1 of 3 targets and it automatically selects a ELITE 400 meters away.

 

The game DOES NOT SELECT THE CLOSEST TARGET BUT A ELITE 400 meters away?

 

Obviously the game views THREAT over the settings of selecting the next target.

 

Setting preferences to closest target are ignored for highest threat, this is why targeting is broken. It just does what it wants and ignores your settings.

Most troubling is when you kill your target, it switches target to your Companion instead of the mob he is fighting. Hopefully they will fix that because it's more than a touch annoying. Edited January 27, 2012 by Calimwulf

OMG, so I was not going crazy! Yes, this is happening to me also. I did not have a problem with it until the last patch. Ever since the last patch my target changes randomly.

I have had several targeting issues and I can't tell whether it's me being an idiot or if it's the game. The only confirmation I've gotten about it so far was from the sith warrior forum with a list of bugs - one of which was force charging at a mob other than your target.

 

It's especially bad though when I'm playing a dps/healer, and I have to switch back and forth between healing a group member and dpsing the proper target. I switch targets so much it starts becoming clear that there's an issue there that I can't quite put my finger on.
