A quick PvP gear question

Hello everyone,

I am just looking for some general direction on something.

I am currently a level 21 DPS trooper which means I can begin to purchase my Lvl 20 PvP gear.

My question is pretty simple. Should I horde all my warzone commendations and save them for Champion gear bags or should I go ahead and get decked out in my lvl 20, 40 ect.... gear?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

That really depends on how much pvp you're going to be doing. To get the maximum amount of champion gear bags at 50 you'll need 1000 Warzone Comms and 1000 Merc Comms, which comes out to a total of 4000 Warzone comms if you convert the wz to mercs. I noticed that their are only a few pieces you really should get, like the ear pieces and implants. Other then that you can pvp just fine in questing items as long as you keep them blue or better.

The lvl 20 & 40 gear doesn't have expertise so you want get any bonus in PvP over standard gear. Weapons do have a little bit but it won't equal a 1% boost.

When I leveled my 1st 2 toons up I did buy the lvl 40 set because I was always at the high end of the planets that my PvE story had me on so my gear was 2-5 level behind what I could use at the time. I'm also not a hard core PvPer. But the gear was almost half the cost it is now and there weren't as many full champ or BM on the server yet.

All that being said, if you plan to get to 50 and PVP a lot, I'd save your comms and by bags once you hit 50. There is going to be a sizable gear gap in the 50s that you'll need to close quickly. you can only have 1000 comm but you can (and will need to) exchange WZ comms for merc comms (30WZ for 10 merc). If you plan to stay in the 10-49 range then I'd get at least the weapons to give you as much of a boost in WZ as possible.

Hope that helped.

I'm 25 and working on my 20 set. I started PvPing at 24 and it's not terrible xp. Not too shabby coin either. Paid for my 25 speeder training and speeder.

I plan on getting the whole 20 set before I go back to PvE'ing. Then at 35 I'll head back to PvP and grind that out until I get the entire 40 set.

I get 90+ commendations per match. I only play for at most 2 hours a day and i've gotten 3 pieces so far. 2 @ 325 and 1 @ 265. In 2-3 days.

All in all, if you get hooked into WZ's like I did, I say go for the 20 then 40. If you don't like it or it's just so-so, then I'd just get the 2 orange pieces at 20 then go back to PvEing

Thanks the feedback is great.

I kind of have general idea about what I am going to do now.

I love PvP in this game (Cant say I am great at it yet but I'm getting better). I would PvP all day but I also dont want to out level my class quests so its a fine line.

TBH, I horded all mine. First thing I bought was my 34 lightsaber. I agree with what was said above, since the gear has no expertise, you'll get better from questing.

Just in case you missed them, there's a pvp weapon vender next to the pvp mission terminal. They aren't from the same guy that sells the armor sets.

YESSS!!! Thank you! I was wondering about this. The Light armor is to the left of the terminal so I'm assuming it's on the other side of the wall.. Since the other vendors in that spot are different armor types.

This is awesome! Thanks so much
