Staramati
. Bought a a6 quad core toshiba with 6620g graphics 500 g hd 4gigs ram it got decent fps but still ran bad IMO just seemed bad when you would turn etc was running on ultra low then tried a asus gaming laptop 3 years old with 1gig graphics it sucked more than the and. The and ended up giving me blue screens and overheating from running swotor. Basically you need 600 plus to get a decent laptop to run this I'm thinking i5 quad core nvidia 540m 6 gigs at the least. Prob better to go i7 but I wouldn't waste your money trying to cut corners to run this well.

Daekarus
Low to midrange laptops have pathetic to lame graphics capabilities at best. Yes, you wanna run it with everything up, you gotta fork out for a better gpu and prepare to deal with the heat. Or you could just get a REAL computer and build a desktop ... Ragebropakage
Man, why won't my laptop run a game that's badly optimized in the first place? I dunno maybe because it's a laptop.

If you want to play up to date games, you have to do what the rest of us do and get an up to date computer to play them on. tiennen
my laptop doesnt even meet minimum requirements. it plays SWTOR at a solid 20 FPS. what you need to do is edit your .ini config files for the game to take it down to a low-quality renderer. The UI doesn't offer a lot of options that would make the game run smoother on low-end laptops. edit: i have a low-quality rendered .ini file i can copy/paste into a private message if you want. Just message me. Edited January 27, 2012 by tiennen
Enzid
Lower your standards if you want to play on a weaker machine. I play the game on a laptop that barely passes all but one of the minimum requirements and I'm enjoying the game anyway.

tiennen
20 fps is not playing this game. yes, but my point was that my laptop doesnt even meet MINIMUM requirements. and it plays at 20 FPS. before i edited my .ini files, my laptop ran the game at 1 FPS. edit: friend of mine was running the game at about 15 FPS before he edited his .ini files. now, he runs the game at 40+ solidly. Keellz
Cheap Gaming Laptop Pick one, you can't have all. I for one just bought a HP pavilion dv6t quad edition. It's on a 2012 best gaming laptops list. I've seen a few poeple play swtor on it at low medium graphics very smooth. Originally its 1200 usd, got it for 750 with an online coupon. amerly
I'm using a mid-range MSI of last year and it plays fine. Update your drivers or buy a desktop, but don't drag ALL laptops down with your claims. And ya, 600$ is pretty low for laptop. My iPad costs like 800$... I know it's apples to oranges, but 1000-1200+ is def the minimum to game comfortably on a laptop. Pay a little more and it'll last a year or two longer.
