MinimumForce
Does anyone else find it extremely frustrating to reverse engineer several crafted items and to constantly receive "You already know that schematic"? I'm only running into it a lot lately since I am trying to use up my second cargo bay filled with mats. I figure it's a productive method of taking care of the extreme surplus (read as hording) and provide purple blasters for my Smuggler once I make one. But as it stands in the past five minutes I've received five of the above message while working on the purple version of a critical blue. Maybe don't show the message so it stops annoying folks or allow the system to push to the next purple instead of the roulette method that it currently seems to use. Thoughts? Dudious
This has been brought up numerous times. I'm not saying this to make you feel bad for re-posting it, quite the opposite. I find it absurd that this hasn't been dealt with yet. This could literally be a 20minute fix. It's just a matter of adding a couple of rules to the random results when items are reverse engineered. A fix that would take longer is creating a system where it's impossible to reverse engineer an item and learn a pattern that's completely useless. Ex: Defense on gear that's obviously for casting. Alacrity on tank gear... etc...

AMEN I have REed somewhere in the 50s of Epic gloves to get the superior epic version, I have gotten Defense on it as a healer/caster so now I keep getting the above message and thinking maybe there is no other superior version? zerobounds
It's kind of like solo'ing an elite mob 30 times and getting a drop that you already have, except you can't sell it. Or give it to a companion. Or anything useful. Edited January 26, 2012 by zerobounds
Larkie
Nope, it doesn't frustrate me. I would rather see the message and know I'm getting a crit than think I didn't get any at all. Nobody "constantly" sees this message unless they are only REing ONE type of ONE level of ONE item and I don't really feel all that bad if you're that obsessed about it. If it's that important you'll get it eventually.
MinimumForce
Well it's more of a disappointment over the fact that it shows and I was expecting another schematic to pop. Otherwise I'm not too concerned with these lower level schematics but it does occur when I try to get the different varieties of an epic level 50 weapon. A couple of rules or tweaking of the system would be acceptable but this almost seems like a slap to the face when you get it over and over. You folks know the reasoning behind those extra and/or useless stats right? That reverse engineering sticky helps to explain it and it's the real reason why I decide to focus on an item and try to get as many of the possibilities. The different varieties do make for great leveling weapons and/or transition pieces between questing and flashpoint gearing. So that's a plus but it still is strange how you can rediscover the same schematic. How about an improved version of the schematic if you rediscover? Something..
