Cooldowns on shiv and backstab is stupid

I cannot stand playing my operative because of the cooldowns on shiv and backstab.

I switched from an assassin to operative because i thought the abilities and talent tree looked more appealing then those of the assassin.

Having cooldowns on shiv and backstab is stupid imo considering thrash and maul don't have cooldowns on them, and there basically the same abilities.

maybe i'm doing it completely wrong, or i'm still too low of a level (13 or 14) but shiv and backstab are the abilities i want to use the most but there always on cd.

Shiv and backstab do not use up half of our energy bar. Thus, the cooldown.

Shiv's cooldown is 6 seconds.

Backstab once talented in Concealment costs 0 energy, meaning it is free damage, it NEEDS a cooldown.

Once you get Lacerate, and Tactical Opportunity, along with the fact that you get a TA every kill, means that you will actually have slight trouble using both Shiv and Backstab the second they are up.

Operatives are kind of ranged damage dealers until 20, at that point they get one of their core skills that allow them to function properly in melee, everything past that is just icing on the cake that will allow them to function as a full-time melee, I never even have time to use Snipe anymore, nor do I want to.

Giving Shiv and Backstab cooldowns was actually very smart, as it gives you an actual rotation in PvE instead of just mutilate spam like what Rogues had in PvE. Threading skills inbetween eachother and having a rotation that consists of more than 2 buttons is a good thing.

It gets better, try and suck it up till 20, you'll be two-shotting mobs with lacerate. Promise.

Lacerate is like Eviscerate for Rogues in WoW, right now your an extremely incomplete class, imagine Rogues with no finishing moves, all you can do is Sinister Strike, thats kind of what an Operative is pre-20, and what it felt like for me.
