mastercosby
Did i just catch a glimpse of the future of PvP? Didn't you know Bioware is already fixing this problem! They are nerfing the least played class, Ops, that happened to be the best at beating sorcs, the most played class. Don't worry, the population class imbalance will be fixed soon! Posixgod
Did i just catch a glimpse of the future of PvP? The obligatory "flavor of the month" class is always going to be prevalent in PVP. In actuality, throwing rocks at someone is pretty pathetic compared to shooting lightning bolts out of your hands. Once a class is nerfed, everyone rolls over to the class that "appears" to be the most OP. So having said that, the future of PVP will consist of people crying about class balance until every class is nerfed down to a useless image of their former selves. The PVE carebear mentality will surface and in an attempt to appease the vast majority of PVE gamers, PVP will be ruined and thrown aside but not a moment before each class is ruined. Can anyone say Sony NGE patch? This may be a bit far to imagine at this point but, it's already started.
Cebby
better than 14 mercs imho nerf em all and let pvp sort em out.

Zetara
14 sorcs would actually be awesome Huttball. Pull to friendly, knock back, throw ball, knockback, throw ball, throw ball, pull to friendly, throw ball, intercept, force run, throw ball, pull to friendly, knockback. It could be an awesome game of back and forth. But what would actually happen would be. Force lightning - Force lightning - Force lightning - Force lightning - Force lightning. Everywherrrrrrre. So your solution is for Bioware to tell all the Sorc QQ'ers out there to L2P and roll back the Op 'fix' of the already least played class....and to actually fix class balance. I totally agree! Training 1 sorc is easymode the only real 'problem' arises when he has 2+ buddies spam healing him in DPS spec they become unkillable. Nerf their healing in DPS spec and they will be fine....but currently....they aren't fine!

RG_jhanlec
Did i just catch a glimpse of the future of PvP? Lol of all the bad luck; in hutball last night our pug had 6 Juggs, 1 Mara, 1 assassin. The team we played had 5 Consulars, 2 commandos, 1 gunslinger. At the end we had a total of 19 KBs and a collective 103 deaths. We lost 5-0 and they held and passed the ball at 5-0 for the last 9 minutes in the pit below our goal line. Was really sad and highlighted the crap we deal with as melee. A standing ovation for all though as none of us quite or left for all 15 min of the slaughter. At least we lost with honor... although a few gripes about being CCd to death every time we dropped down from death spawn...
Mattheous
dps spec sorcs healing is not very good and easily interuptable. a dps spec sorc has TWO heals. 1 big 1 small. interupt the big heal. any dps class getting spam healed by 2+ buddies is going to be unkillable. stop being ridiculous It's not that they are unkillable, it's that it's nothing but annoying. Slowing all day long? check. Knockback? Check. God damn lightning all over the god damn place? Check. Healing? Check. Shield that makes you avoid stuns from stuff like Sentinels/Marauders force leap? Check. Heck, I can kill a Sorc without too much problems. HOWEVER, seing 4 lightnings coming from 4 different locations, centering on me, slowing me and tearing me apart... That makes me want to bang my head against the wall. It is almost as bad as when 3 Mercs/Commando spamming grav round at me, not doing anything but pressing a single button. Can I kill 1 solo? Easy! Should I be able to kill them all? Not at all! Is it annoying? You bet! So, sorcs does need a little overhaul with their controll, but it's not the main problems. Which is the simple fact the only "visible" thing a sorc do is to cast shields and lightning. Both which gets fairly tedious after seing 5 people do it per WZ match, and you play at least 20 per day for a week.

Nerf their healing in DPS spec and they will be fine....but currently....they aren't fine! Morholt, you lost me @ "Nerf their healing in DPS spec" Do you know how utterly useless the healing is in PVE as DPS spec let alone PVP? it's completely worthless at best. With how much the heal crits in a DPS spec, (Lightning, madness), it's like throwing a band-aid on a gunshot wound, seriously. So I say, no to this, you're wrong. My solution is, don't Nerf ANY class based on players inability to: Spec properly, Gear properly, Interrupt, stun, knockback at the appropriate times. and lastly, play their class properly, while understanding the utility and weakness of each class. Do you realize how much of this nonsensical nerf this nerf that is based on players who for lack of better words, just don't know how to play? You can't apply the same model to every situation / every class, you have to deal with each player differently. Some people are kited easily or the "keyboard turners" are easy to run circles around confusing the small pea sized brains they have. Point being, this has to be approached from a different angle, caving into the people who cry the most because they fail at PVP is not a good model to work off of. Khabarach
I've been in a similar pug Huttball, with about 12 Inquis as an Immortal Jugg. Maladon
It's really both disappointing and amazing that gaming companies can't learn from the catastrophic mistakes of the game makers who came before them. Just last year around this time a lot of us were playing Rift and look how it turned out. Look at the mistakes they made... Rift had an unsatisfying gear grind that players had to traverse through extremely repetitive battlegrounds. They offered four different battleground but there was no getting through the grind without utterly hating every single one of them before you were through. For the vast majority of the playerbase, SWTOR offers one battleground... Rift had overpowered classes and devastating nerfs. I'm fairly certain we're headed down that road with SWTOR too. Rift failed to deliver compelling world pvp. SWTOR has Ilum... One year later Rift is a ghost town, any bets on how SWTOR will fare in a year? Rift failed to deliver compelling world pvp. SWTOR has Ilum... One year later Rift is a ghost town, any bets on how SWTOR will fare in a year? PvP in Rift was always a little underwhelming. Black Garden seemed to be its strongest point. With all the issues SWTOR has, I think its PvP is better than Rift ever was. This is coming from someone whom liked Rift. I wouldn't call Rift's nerfs devastating. The Sab nerf needed to happen - that's the first big nerf I can think of at the moment. Rift failed on open world PvP because they didn't design open world PvP for some reason. They decided to put it in a level 30 zone. Why? Who the heck knows. But yes, SWTOR needs to address some issues (not necessarily meaning to swing the nerf bat) Edited January 26, 2012 by jdnyc
