Ashikuro Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Add craftable expertise mods. That's it. Make them scale with level like other mods and have them cap out at ilvl 112 or something. Players can add them to orange gear, but due to a lower ilvl they will still want to upgrade to epic pvp gear. This way fresh 50's won't get completely destroyed while they pray to the RNG gods on champion bags. Another solution would also be to increase the tokens from bags from 3 to 8 or so. Requiring 8,000 commendations per item is pretty rough as it stands. So easy fix. Who do we talk to make this happen. I'll buy you a beer or 3 if we can see some action on this.
Irishbrewed Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 (edited) Considering there is only two good crew skills in the game cyber tech and biochem this would make for a reasonable reason to roll another skill. Just have craft able expertise gear period. By armor tech and sythweavers. Plus this helps the new boots in the 50 bracket so you don't feel completely gimped. Let's not even talk about the stupid champ bag lottery system that is utter fail. Another great idea they should of stole from wow tbh.... Basic resil gear was craftable. Yes, add expertise as craftable mods, I agree but not for the reasons you stated. Part of gearing up is having to suffer a little in PVP, you EARN your gear, it shouldn't be handed to you.
JingleHell Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I've got something like 9% Expertise. Doesn't make me a god. Adding these wouldn't be terrible, but it also wouldn't help most people, since most people don't help themselves. The people complaining about PvP gear are mostly the ones showing up to their first 50 WZ's with level 40 or lower green quality gear. I saw a guy with <11k HP in a WZ, complaining about OP PvP gear and screaming that every class under the sun needed a nerf. Literally, half his gear was level 36. My under-used companions would have wrecked him in a straight fight. Aside from gaining expertise, almost all of the Centurion gear was a downgrade for me as soon as I hit 50, just from having reasonable level mods in my gear. I did fine to start getting gear.

If they offered a bit less than the epic gear then you would still grow through some tough times getting really geared, but you would have a chance that way.
