Kodokai Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 This has to come in soon, so many nerds rage quitting over small things, which causes another two nerds to ragequit alongside him which in turn kills the pvp match.

When you allow ME to skip huttball, fine. But not until. I'll leave huttball every freaking time.
-Hubris- Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Not only that, if someone else joins the match in the meantime, he gets flaged as deserter too, and because you can't enter the match immediately, you get kicked out of the warzone, happened to me like 4 times in a row. It usually happens in huttball, but since the huttball happens 60% of the time (atleast on my server) it is really really annoying
ZenoDnB Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Agreed. There needs to be some sort of deserter penalty, and it should be harsh - not just across pvp, but across FP's as well (ie unable to queue WZ or complete a FP for 2 hrs). I'm sick of getting into a WZ and seeing players drop games. I'm sick of queue'ing into a losing WZ game with only 4-5 players on my team.
GRINnBARRETT Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I'd rather they drop & we get someone who is competent rather than they just go afk b/c they have no sense of fighting back.
dannomite Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 From my experience, the problem could be solved by setting the minimum level for warzones to 20. That way people get a couple levels to learn their AC. Also, you can either let them leave or put up with them trying to make you lose faster. Fix the problem not the symptom.

Make the clock go longer, or make the clock not start as soon.

dannomite Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Deserter buff still won't do you much good. People will still leave terrible pug groups, and the good players that leave them will be out of the pool, making queues longer, and greater chance of getting stuck with bad players. I think ultimately the rated system they're proposing will ease this. Fair match ups lead to a better experience for all.
Oneeve Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 (edited) Screw level brackets, do Valor Rank brackets. Might not weed out all the baddies, but at Valor 20, most folks should know the ropes. Just a thought. Then adding the debuff wouldn't be absurd. Edited January 23, 2012 by Oneeve
Proppa Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 So I join a match, where all everyone wants to do is go for medals. I should stay and lose the match, or leave and get a deserter debuff? Or what about that player who just loves to afk continuously during the warzone while stealthed up? Or against a team who are "toying" with you, they hold the ball and just roll the rest of the ops?
Cebby Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 This guy ^ is the reason we need it. Deserter debuff that is. Why my team no win?! Why should I stay? What aboot the afk'ers! People cue up to fight and the odds are not always equal. Sometimes you have to pull more weight than the new kid who is keyboard turning. Dropping because of losing is about number, how do i level faster, how do i exploit the system to suit myself. If the game is about numbers and getting ranks when you are que'in solo then what are you gunna do when u are leveled? Run around waiting for a good groop to leach off? complain that ur class is underpowered because you cant tolerate to lose!! Yes afk'ers are the bottom rung. report them, get it off your chest and show BW that we dont want them in our matches. Now how do we get you quitters out?

Lets have a valor ranks brackets. It will turns out even more fun when we having now.
Bollah Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I notice the people that usually leave are the bad players with no competitive drive. The good players will stay and try to win because they are competitive and don't like to lose. I have seen it so many times. We are doing horribly and 3 people leave. 3 new guys come in who just happen to be competent and we win.

If we try a little harder, we can come back from this 5 point game with 5 minutes left! All we have to do is- [[YOU ARE DEAD]] (Release to the closest medcenter) Yes, any narrowly losing game easily gets flipped. I have to do it all the time. I just hate joining games that're already lost because our team was full of bads or they had a premade. Get rid of those two things and I won't care if deserter's added. The best thing you can do when you have a bad group is to just destroy the scoreboard and watch as you're #1 on the wrong side of a 6-0.

So people should be penalized for not enjoying the WZ because of the people who afk or try to farm medals instead of focusing on the main objective of the game? People leaving because they are losing is aggravating but they are almost immediately replaced so QQ more.
Ainrehtea Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I would only join WZs then quit so that my pvp flag wears off in open world. I love Ganking people when questing so I join up Wzs before some 50's show up then quit to remove my flag. Then again i've only joined 3 Wzs and completed 2 of them the 3rd one I realized I could cheat my pvp flag.
Serjao Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 When you allow ME to skip huttball, fine. But not until. I'll leave huttball every freaking time. I love Huttball, but I understand your feeling. Picking maps to queue would really be fun. I believe there should be both kinds of queueing.
dannomite Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I find the ones that leave are usually the good players. Bad attitude? Sure. But it beats a good attitude and a lack of common sense. Valor based matchmaking is an ideal scenario. Brackets are a little too cut and dry.
BubbleDncr Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I used to never desert warzones. Then I started deserting only when I go brought into a warzone that was already in progress. I have no desire to play in a game that's halfway through with the other team kicking my team's butt, through no fault of my own. And now, I'll occasionally desert when I'm on a team that's losing, half the team has already deserted, and this is the 4th straight warzone I've been in this situation for. So if I had the option to only queue for warzones that aren't in progress, then I would support a debuff for deserting. Because that would help prevent situation 2 from happening. But I don't want to be penalized for not wanting to play half a game.
