Racheakt Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Legacy system still seems flawed from the attack angle (to me at least): it is based on the idea of an account wide family. Both Republic and Empire in the same family? Tweliks, Sith Purebloods, Humans, Chis all related with the same last name? Suggestion: let us turn our legacy into a Crime Oraganization, Secret Society, or company hierarchy rather than "mommy, daddy, baby" like family. Let us name the relations, rather than "Son" "Father" let us do things like "Kingpin" "CEO" "Underling" or "Grand Pubah". Let us treat our Legacy as a Private Guild of our alts.
AeonWeapon Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Your idea makes alot of sense. Bioware's "family" idea makes no sense.
SabersAtDawn Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 yeah this makes more sense than "family", although doesn't make so much sense cross-faction
DarkSeverance Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Both Republic and Empire in the same family? You should look at the Antilles bloodline.
Sabarok Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I like your idea, but I think the "family" description used by Bioware was simply to help describe the concept. It's hard to claim that two people are related when they are very different species. Perhaps Bioware will allow us to define how characters are related to each other, either through blood ties, friendship, sworn loyalties, or long lost friends. It could be that all we're given is a line to connect two characters, and it's totally up to our imagination as to the reason the line is there, but the game doesn't care about why the line is there. It just knows that the 2 are connected.
Racheakt Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 yeah this makes more sense than "family", although doesn't make so much sense cross-faction As a fan of the game I can do some mental gymnastics to make it work; for instance if my "main" is a Sith Pureblood and a Crime lord, there is no reason why my "Dark Jedi" cannot be one of my "made men" so to speak. You can go the reverse, make a "secret society of good" where you have a Jedi at the head and Light sided Sith in the opposing faction. For a more Merc feel, A Bounty Hunter with a list of informants or contacts in either faction.... all make better fit than the traditional "family"
Racheakt Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 You should look at the Antilles bloodline. True, one can be related and on opposing sides
Racheakt Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 Boy these forums move fast, who says there is not interest in this game
