LordZykon
Why on earth would they make it so that your abilities on cooldown don't appear to be on cooldown?
AidanLightwalker
I don't think so at all. I'm having no issues telling, In fact, I like the way the system is now. Now if the ability is useable (meaning I have resources for it) and just on CD, the ability stays lit up and the CD shows. If the ability is on CD and I dont have the resources to use it, it goes on CD and is greyed out. What is wrong with this system?? I like it. The issue is that most people if they are playing in pressure situations (say, PvP), don't want to actually *look* at the bar closely, they want to be able to tell from peripheral vision whether it is "lit up" or not and choose to use the skill based on that without actually having to look at the bar. This is, in fact, very common for players in pressure situations. The current change makes you look more closely at the bar to tell when a cooldown is coming off. It's rather unhelpful, and at the very least should be a preference toggle for the player as to whether to do it this way or the old way (which is common in other games). LordZykon
Maybe I'm just not seeing it right. To me, when my ability is on cooldown and the requirements are met, it appears to be useable, but does nothing when I press my hotkey. I no long see the grey timer on the icon. This may be my problem.

They are not fooling their customers. You just don't happen to like it and that's a preference. Some of us do like it and that's our preference. Although, the poster suggesting a toggle feature to alternate how you see it would work. Those that want to use it, great, those that don't, don't have to. win/win
Quip
Having spent some time with the receding blue walls over my abilities on cool down I can now say officially that I love it. It's a great system, I find very easy to see. At least until I get used to counting through my rotation and stop looking at them. However, I would never be opposed to Bioware allowing other options for other people.
