It takes coming to these Forums to not want to play this game.

I play about 4 hours per night every night except for Tuesdays and Thursdays when i have night classes, and i have never been happier with an MMO. We love the storylines each of our classes are progressing through, there's always outbursts on vent like we were at a roulette wheel when it comes to whos going to say what during a conversation. We just completed the War Games flashpoint and proved difficult and interesting enough for us to feel accomplished at the end. We have minor gripes here and there, about load screens, or minor quest bugs but it doesnt take up even 1/100th of our conversations regarding SWTOR...

While im not playing an MMO, i like to talk about it on forums with other players, class concepts, content ideas, reviews and speculation... its usually a pretty fun pass time when you spend the day just wanting to get home and continue the game.

Then you come to these forums and 8 out of 10 posts are all talking about how the world is ending, the game with over a million subscribers is apparently dying, the game is unplayable on top end machines, classes are broken, content is boring etc... And it just wears you down, it makes you want to double guess what you thought was fun, makes you think that this is all just a waste of time and we might as well go off ourselves now because no MMORPG will ever be good.

Of course then i log back into the game and meet up with my friends and we have as great time once again. I just fear that one day im going to get drawn into these forums and completely lose my will to even log back in.

There's an extremely low level of theorycrafting going on in these game forums. Variety of reasons for that. But point being, people here primarily post about social issues and technical problems. It doesn't inspire interest in playing the game.

I feel the exact same way. Everyone I meet in-game love it and most people on the forums hate it, I don't understand this behaviour. It's honestly probably just trolls on the forums.

I wouldn't worry about it, I think that Bioware can spot trolls. :D

The General section is infested with trolls. Get off the beaten path and pay a visit to your class forum.

Agreed. except the class forums can be filled with the opposite. Any debate about class mechanics tends to be met with....Everything's perfect, leave it alone.

Why care what the minority thinks of it?

WoW is also dying, haven't you heard?

Make no mistake, this game is a LOT of fun from 1-50. Some of the class stories are epic.

However, you are still paying a monthly fee just to hit fifty and either reroll or quit.

Actually you are paying monthly to have fun and can quit when you stop having fun.

As far as I was taught, that is the whole point of a game/past time.

The Forums represent a minuscule percentage of the player base. The larger percentage playing don't even know there's a problem.

Seriously take ANY MMO and look at the General Forums for the first few months and also for subsequent content updates that follow and you'll see a lot of the same tripe posted there almost word for word.

If these people were actually accurate in their predictions they'd be playing the stock market instead and getting rich.

I know how you feel. I posted a constructive and differentiated post in the general section earlier on and it was infested with spam within minutes. Most posts started by saying that the poster had not read the thread but apparently felt the need for negativity and attention.

Meanwhile, I'm greatly enjoying the game. Of course it has serious issues, such as the skewed faction distributions and some performance issues with the engine. But that's nothing that couldn't be fixed sooner or later and down at the core design decisions Bioware has done everything right with this game.

Once the smoke clears I hope we will have lost the usual internet trash and we'll have ourselves a communicative and social community. In the early days of the last month, I did not come across a single player who was not helpful and positive.

So I know for a fact that they are out there, they just don't bother posting on the forums, which does not surprise.

It it weren't for having to work I wouldn't be here at all but instead playing but alas the lottery win has remained elusive :p.

Yeah you complainers are seriuosly ruining the game. IF i came here to check out the game before i bought it, i would think twice. Thanks to these lamers, there will be less people to play. ITS AN MMO. I WANT TO SEE MORE PEOPLE IN THE GAME.

I swear you guys have this grudge against this game. The moment I discuss about how nice the game is while playing it, i get a couple of guys who jump in and whine about it being buggy. Then I counter argue and guess what happens next? "oh, another person on ignore for me cause i dont wanna hear about how im wrong ". Yet that person continues to play.

Whine about the bugs but dont put the game down for others. I dont want to see only WOW guys playing this game and complaining about a lack of DUNGEON LFG TOOL.

Yes, it is truly depressing. I love playing the game, I like to talk about it, but I hate reading what everyone posts on this forum.

That being said, I love going over to the class forums. People are much happier over there.

I will consider myself lucky then, the BH forums are pretty good. People having fun and realistic criticisms.
