Operation: Guild Wars

It seems obvious that imperials are outweighing the win/loss factor on the left side of the scale by a lot at the moment.

Bear with me, I haven't played GW for awhile.

In Guild wars, there was a method where when you would join a PvP thing, you would gain the equivalent gear and level effectiveness of whoever you were facing.

I would suggest, something similar. If there was a Jedi Guardian outgeared by a Sith Inquisitor, the Jedi should be bestowed the gear effectiveness that the inquisitor has for that played warzone.

Obviously there would be some problems in getting this setup, but all the warzones I have played since the 50 bracket, I have not come close to winning because the imps can just win without trying, because they have more people geared out. At least, that seems to be the majoring factor over 90% of the time.

I don't expect all positive feedback, but I think it would be a good idea personally, if it was to be implemented in a positive way.

Next on the agenda. The abolishment of Resolve and implementation of a Diminishing returns table...

Not sure if I'm understanding you right. Are you suggesting undergeared players get boosted to the highest geared player's level? Dont know if that can work. I mean, wouldnt that discourage people from even bothering gearing up since theres probably always going to be that 1 guy thats geared in warzones that will boost everyone?

Guild Wars was an excelent PvP game where skill and strategy wins.. and everyone has access to same gear from very first moment (well, almost very first moment).

Thats shame, swtor is a different game and system like this can´t be implemented here.. people do require to grind.. thats fact. People prefer the grind over strategy and skill and there is only a minority of players who prefer fair compettetive enviroment. Others so called PvPers, prefer gear wars where following rulez are applied

thats a shame, but lets wait for GW2 and see if they can make their sucessfull game twice :)

They would not get set bonus' and other obvious things I would imagine, I really don't see how they couldn't implement something like this if they handled it delicately.

This pretty much covers it.

In my mind this would be counted as a very good thing.

The neverending gear treadmill makes me feel like I'd just as soon play some other game, to be honest. I hate having to grind for gear to keep a competitive edge. I'm not in PvP for gear. I am in it for action. It's not satisfying to own someone's face off when you know your gear is just way better. It's much more satisfying when you win and you know that you were on equal footing to begin with. It's also fun to beat someone who you know outgears you, but I'd be willing to sacrifice that for some balanced PvP action.

Get rid of gear altogether, as far as I'm concerned. Seriously, **** that noise. Let the pixel hunters chase the shiny loot. When I want to PvP, I just want to PvP, and I don't need or want a gear advantage to do that.

I think it's a great idea. I also think it's too late to do it. Everyone who has already geared up will freak out, and be some what justified given the effort they have put in, about how they worked to get their precious gear.

"Once you go down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny..." This is basically how elite gear works.

Well said...I'm a man of few words but great hate for the gear grind kiddies that pretty much took the fun outta pvp. Whatever happened to pvp for fun, for bragging rights, for talking friendly smack on the boards for your faction or your realm? Damn I miss early Daoc.

P.S. If you sucked before your Iwin purps you still suck now and everyone knows it.

Absolutely not.

Whats the point of having gear then?

to utilize your playstyle - aka which set bonus, what stats do you want to stack etc, while others have exactly same options = FAIR FIGHT?? is that what you absolutely disagree with?
