I think some of you are just looking for reasons to go back to WoW.

OMG there's bugs.... that's it. I'm unsubbing.

OMG they released a bad patch.... I'm unsubbing.

OMG I can't get valor or coms easily anymore.... I'm unsubbing.

Game over man.... *$ing game over. We should nuke this thing from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Good riddance.

I said this earlier but its relevant here

Its all good, 9/10th of the people quiting today would of quit when wow was in its infancy as well, likely also quit "insert new MMO title here" thinking that 6 years of gaming completely removed all bugs, glitches, exploits and hacks. And that all ship with perfection. And actually bugs and exploits have become MORE prevalent over the years simply because of how much code is poured into them.

Edit: Also coupled with the fact that developers almost never build their own engines for the games. Its a core part of the game that they themselves cannot fix and have to wait for the developers of those engines to fix issues with them.

I try and stay away from these forums due to all of the derp, but occasionally stop by for some laughs. A few things that get me going from what I've seen so far:

1. Most (not all) of the people I see posting all the QQ threads try and make it look like they're grizzled PVP vets, seasoned game designers, etc. They "know for a fact" how to "fix this broken game" and are only doing their duty as a fellow MMO enthusiast by letting all of us uneducated folk share in a bit of their vast knowledge. LULZ.

2. The one that gets me the most is when someone says something to the effect of, "I've been playing MMO's for a billion years, and no other company has EVER had a ****** release/patch ever!!!!!!!111" The bullsh** in these statements is apparent. Obviously they never played WoW (just one example) and had to experience downtimes of around a week or so when new expansions were released, not to mention the god awful launch blizzard sh** out their a**.

There are some legitimate issues, obviously. Some of the animations are messed up. Ability delay is a big issue (I play a marauder. Me and ability delay are great friends.) The whole thing about empire turrets ticking faster that republic turrets is hillarious. I've seen republic turrets tick faster than empire ones several times, but no one wants to just come out and say "it's a bug." It's gotta be "QQ Bioware hates republic players and favors the empire!"

Even with the issues though, I still thoroughly enjoy the game, as do all the people I play with. If you don't like the game, stop playing.

if wow ever made it so they let three times the number of horde into each battleground as alliance, and also so that the best gear in the game can be bought straight up with honor and no other requirements, then the grass WOULD BE THE SAME COLOR AS IN THIS GAME

so you can imagine why any grass would look greener than this

At least you can admit an engine, created over 10 years ago, has better performance than that of SWTOR. Sure it has been tweeked back and forth over those years, but even with the initial release Blizzard's engine had the best fluid gameplay that had ever been seen, and has yet to be seen to date.

Bioware knows there is a problem, yes, but shouldn't these types of problems been tested while deciding what engine to go with? And if the company was happy with what I feel to be unbareable to play on, how can I trust their future decisions?

Shouldn't we expect more in 2012?

Sorry for the engine rant, this being the main reason I'm leaving your quote uptop just threw some opinions out.

You people are funny.

So just because the game is new it is allowed to suck? That's what alphas and betas are for, to make sure the game doesn't suck before it is finally released.

It is the same idea as quality control in manufacturing. When you buy toothpaste, you expect not only the toothpaste to work as intended, but also for the toothpaste dispenser to dispense tooth paste and not rat droppings.

I guarantee that if you had tried a new brand of toothpaste and poop came out instead of toothpaste, you wouldn't say "well that's to be expected of a new brand of toothpaste and I will just stick with it and take my chances."

No, what's funny is. We only need one thread about unsubbing and anyone who wants to unsub can vent there. Please don't flood forums with useless posts about people unsubbing, because frankly most people here really dont give two sh*ts about it.

I quit today and loved WoW in its infancy. Great logic.

Hmm but yes the grass is greener on the other side due to this side it seems to be......brown! They are making mistakes that happened years ago. They are making mistakes that 100's of posters have told them will happen weeks/months ago in beta and after.

This is why the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence. As I have paid to be able to play and post I will till the day the account stops!

And yes you can sit there and defend this game as it is you right as a paid member. but please at least defend it with facts.

WoW dated graphics - Swtors better but still lacking.

WoW very boring quest system - Swtors the same but least it has voices.

That's about it would you like me to list of the bad points that make pretty much any game that still has 50k+ players a better game than swtor?

I think a lot of people are more like "OMG I SUCK AT PVP! ITS BIOWARE'S FAULT! I'M UNSUBBING!" Seriously though... it's almost comical to see how people blame their own faults on someone else... anyone else... before they even consider the idea that they could potentially be responsible for their own failures.

I'm not unsubbing now. I'm not unsubbing any time in the next 6 months. I'm in it for the long haul personally, and the only thing that's going to make me unsubscribe is if they totally drop the ball and refuse to fix anything. For the first month of an MMO, this launch is actually really smooth and the game is very well polished. I've played much worse... people are too impatient and nobody is willing to give them time to fix what needs to be fixed (which they've already started doing).

A lot of the unsubs aren't for reasons like say, your sig for example. It's for the horrendous customer service. You have to be willing to accept feedback from your player base as the developer of an MMO.

Other than that, my main issue is the character ability lag. It's unacceptable and WoW never had this in its infancy. Even in 2004.

You tell me what toothpaste has millions of lines of code in it, built from an engine made by another company with another million lines of code, built for an Operating System made by another company with millions of lines of code, built for a computer made by another company. You have not even the slightest clue of this technological marvel called the computer. It is BY FAR the absolute most complex thing mankind has ever built when you get into the lower levels of how the thing operates.

Your pail comparison is pointless considering the complexity of programs. Toothpaste isn't built every time like a game is. If your CD was cracked, scratched, broken or corrupted your comparison would hold weight because both are mass produced. Games are not developed on an assembly line.
