Great kotaku.com article quote.

I was looking up reviews particularly after the implementation of this patch and I found this:

"That having been said, so far the community that's sprung up around The Old Republic is one of the best-behaved, most well-mannered, and most generous group of geeks I've had the pleasure of sharing a general chat box with. They've been considerably more helpful, mature, and tolerant than those I've encountered in other games. I'm the sort of player that shies away from grouping much of the time for fear that I'll screw something up and get booted, but so far I've yet to encounter such treatment, even after I allowed a gigantic insect to devour our entire party by breaking crowd control. How am I supposed to tell one swirly red light from another?"

Whole article is here: http://kotaku.com/5876423/star-wars-the-old-republic-the-kotaku-review

Anyhoo, I understand people have frustrations about this new patch. But I assure you that Bioware, being new to MMOs will and already are working to figure on how to fix things. Just please be patient and remember to not get too trolly or just plain rude to people who do still enjoy this game; Especially ones who are not yet 50 (like me) and have yet to try out endgame content.

Another great article from Kotaku, from today.

http://kotaku.com/5877245/star-wars-the-old-republic-patch-11-breaks-high+end-pvp?popular=true

"Imperial players are camping Republic spawn points, dominating objective areas, and generally farming the entire zone willy nilly. As an added bonus, BioWare added in a feature that announces whenever an enemy player approaches an important point on the map, turning the Imperials into one rolling announcement-seeking missile of Republic destruction."

"That's a neat idea. It's not working, but definitely a neat idea.

Will BioWare roll back the update? Will the Republic rise again? At this point it's anyone's guess.

I told you Star Wars: The Old Republic PVP was a mess."

yeah i read that one first then found the link to the review. but still, just don't entirely lose hope completely because of one bad patch. Even WoW and Everquest had many angry players after patches being it pvp or imbalances. Hell, I wondered sometimes why things from the PTR were still allowed into the final release.

Don't market kotaku, they're terrible.

mmmm I wouldn't say that. so far I think they are more down to earth and I like their articles, especially how humorous they can get. But that is just me, and the tons of other people. hell, people like Ign.com and I think they are the worst reviewers on the planet. Even Gamespot can get a little too "seriously? a 9/10?"

You people will literally forgive no errors and appreciate nothing. They have a patch fix coming out barely over 24 hours after...

---

The only ones playing a bad game with a horrible community are the members of the community that think they are playing a bad game with a horrible community...

Its a choice and they have made it. Now if we could only get them to shut the heck up and move along.

I hate how they always inject their opinions in the basic news articles. I really, really hate that, therefore I just read the basics and skip everything else.

Kotaku is a POS site, so i don't go to their site anymore. That said, the channel chat on Empire side is HORRIBLE. I never played WoW, but i've been told that's what it's like.

On Republic it's much better, except there is only about a third of the population as Empire. Maybe that's why it's better?

It's all about perspective. Too many people on these forums see the glass half empty. Their lives and experience with SWTOR are miserable. I see the glass half full.

I see it as half full of urine. So do most players, but you seem to like it

Most people on the forums, or most players in general? Big difference.

Have you actually physically tallied those that have had such problems that they are unsubing, compared to those that are having problems that are sticking with it to see if it gets better?

Sword of Ajunta Pall PVP(or however you spell it) I have a 25 Smuggler and there are at least 30+ on each planet I've been to. On Shadowtown PVP where I'm giving up on my 20 Jedi Consular (no, not for PVP reasons, I have a 38 SW instead) there was 2 people on Voss and 5 on Hoth one day.

I haven't seen anything super huge difference with the faction classes except for the obvious, animations, story, and gear. But the meat and bones, the abilities are identical to each other. So I see no real huge advantage playing empire more than republic besides looking and acting evil in the stories. Yes the stories are really good on the Empire side, but so is the Smuggler and trooper. So far, I'm loving my smuggler story.

But i haven't done that much faction vs faction pvp on SWTOR yet. I read that emp have faster animations. Is this true, anybody provide a link to a video?

I have to agree, at least for my server so far, that the in game community has been awesome. Everyone has been very forgiving and helpful. Someone asks a question in general and 15 people answer it. People seem to go out of their way and actually stop what they are doing to give you the class buff. Very good stuff.

Most people who bother posting on the forums are trolls. They are thought to be a majority because everyone else is enjoying the game. Do not be fooled :p

Hmmmm. I wonder how you know that?

He's a troll!!!!! Run for the hills!~!

On my server, republic:

Guy 1: Question Here.

Guy 2: Answer

Guy 3: Answer

Guy 4: Troll Answer

Guy 2: Lols. Cause everyone knows each other on republic fleet..

Mine for Empire is same. Every so often, if someone is asking too much, we'll just say you have to raid Darth Vader. He has the item you need.
