Dravinian
Seems to be a lot of talk, and I agree with it, that being 50 in PvP holds no interest for many players. That the 1-49 bracket for PvP is actually far more fun than the level 50 grind to Battlemaster will ever be. Let us lock our level. Just a button, turn off all XP. We can still quest, PvE, do Flashpoints and PvP, but gain no XP, just credits and gear. Let it fill up to 1 point of XP short, then when we finally feel like we need to be level 50, we can click a button and level. Give us the choice on whether to be level 50 or not. Dravinian
So what you'll have a brigade of 49 twinks rolfstomping noobs? No thanks. There is a very finite amount of gear in the game., even the most twinked level 49 will not have that much of a stat advantage. 49 is not significantly more powerful than a level 10, yes they are, of course, they have more abilities, but with the bolster system in place, it isn't a large enough difference to make the lower levels impotent. It will also keep the level 1-49 bracket alive long past release.
Brimestar
Bad idea...Was a bad idea in EQ2, and it's still a bad idea now. Say no to Twinks
Dravinian
I fought level 49s today and while they may still win 1vs1, WF are not 1vs1, or are rarely so. I fight a level 49 they will probably win due to skills and abilities, if we are equally skilled, but they will know they have been in a fight, they will be low health, they will be struggling and given that WF are a group game they will go down shortly after that. I would rather face off against 8 level 49s than face joining a grind for Battlemaster gear.
Knifewrench
Sure, you can have this... if you don't mind being shoved into a separate queue where you will face other players doing the same thing so you're unable to prey on ungeared players. Oh, wait... you were BS'ing that entire time, weren't you?

JackKerras
Another absolutely terrible idea! Twinks are bad for PvP. They make people quit joining games. It's fun for the twink and ****** for everyone else.
StealthStalker
I'd like to lock my level, but it's mainly PvE related. I'd like to do all of the content at the correct level on my main character.
Nightfalll
NO WE DONT WANT YOUR TWINKING IN THIS GAME if you want that you know where you can go........Stop trying to make this game the 'other' one. belialle
Without access to enchants and things like that, I just don't see how twinking could ever be as much of a problem in this game as it has been in other games. Please try to remember that this is not WoW or EQ2. I just don't see how anyone could ever gain a strong gear advantage with the way that gearing up works in this game. For one thing, gear is super easy to get. I've been geared up very, very nicely as I've leveled -- and with minimal effort. For another thing, there isn't really anything fancy that you can get from professions that would give you that much of an edge. There's nothing like enchanting or engineering in this game -- not really. Personally, I wouldn't mind being able to stop XP gain, and it's not because I want to farm undergeared players. It's because I am starting to have a bad feeling about PvP at 50, but it's really fun for me right now, and I don't want the magical days to end. I am not looking forward to getting on the level 50 gear treadmill. If anything will make me want to just say "F it" and stop playing, it will be that. These forums sometimes make me wish I could reach through the interwebs and throttle some of you sanctimonious little gits. Beelzebubs
Level 49's with expertise is a bad idea. You can actually take the expertise enhancement slots out of the mid 40's PvP weapons and insert it into other gear.
bliapis
i'd like to be able to pause my xp increase aswell. staying L49 and have a ready-to-pvp toon is much fun!

If I complain about the game it is the actual people on the republic side that don't know what their doing. It is constantly a fight just communicating with these kids. I'm sure you've seen it - republic players running into big groups either solo or 3 people at the max. I'm glad my guild is finally up and running and have some quality players. Couldn't stand having an entire random team anymore.

You say don't want some other game, I for one didn't know you could stop levelling in EQ2, never really got that far into it. Then fail to realise that this game is nothing like EQ2. Gear is very finite in terms of stats. It seems quite balanced...bt more willpower? sure but it has less endurance, crit rating, but you giving up defence or absorb rating. There is no ability to get massively ahead with gear 1-49. Which is why some of us want to stay there. The real gear disparity appears at 50. Jerro
well another approach maybe would work a little better. i try to do the warzone daily, flashpoints and heroic quests at apropiate levels. but im constantly ouleveling the questing content. an xp lock only usuable in a pve enviroment, or with xp lock enabled you cant enter warzones maybe could be something to think about. just a thought, not at all well thought through, there will still be some issues with that approach. but maybe can it get people to think a bit different.
