rabidpiano Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Yes, men's butts are too big. No, they should not make this a priority to fix. I feel they should make this priority. Our characters are the first thing we notice in this game. And a character bug that is this annoying and distracting is taking away IMMEDIATELY from our enjoyment of the game. I'd rather have a character I like and a bugged quest, than a glitched out J LO looking Jedi and a quest that works.
Chantelise Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I've noticed a few curious things about this issue. When looking at your character in the armor view window, the robes look like they're supposed to. It's really disheartening to see the robes look normal and without a huge behind but in actuality it doesn't look like it in game. The other thing I have noticed, is if you zoom your camera out all the way (with the Camera Max Distance settings in your preferences set to 100%), your robes will also look normal with no huge behind. So, you can kind of see how it's supposed to be despite being zoomed out fully. You can run around and still see that it stays normal - the only thing about it is the lower part of the robes don't seem as 'flowy'. Once you zoom in even just a little, the behind pops out again. I don't see how this is a clipping issue, because when you're zoomed out all of the way and can see the robes be how they're supposed to be, I see no signs of anything clipping. Looks fine. Please, Bioware, fix this soon. It bugs me to no end.
Saetet Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Have you ever seen some of the pants or robes on talos ? The front part sticks out and it looks like he is REALLY happy to see you. God I die laughing when I summon him.
racsofp Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 This wasn't in any of the Star Wars movies. A bunch of guys hanging around going, "Does this make my butt look big?" This goes on my list of favorite issues brought to the forum. It is #4. No 400 pound female troopers. No same sex romance. No sitting on chairs except on your ship. Big male butts.
Zin-Zin Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Looks like a pretty fine rear end to me. What? Only female characters are allowed to be eye candy? It's about time the men got to find out what it's like! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go make a male toon since if I'm going to be staring at a butt for hours on end...
DamienStark Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I warned you to start eating salad. But you wouldn't listen. How dare you. Sith. don't. eat. salad.
PeruvianPariah Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 so what are the chances of fixing this in 1.1
Slightlycampana Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I think BW were very clever to make beautifully shaped backsides for us to admire while we play, but I do agree the robe flairs out in a weird way. It does the same on my female character and makes her thighs look massive.
Godsfear Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Damnnn! You got a little junk in that trunk! I would balance my beer on that and go to town. I could use that as a bumper on my car.
PibbyPib Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I think what they need to do is puff out the lower back area of the torso, so it matches the rump. As others have said, you have to leave a little space between the garment and the model so that's really the only thing you could do, I think.
MightyAl Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 It's not a big butt, it's just constant Force flatulence.
Thargrim Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Lol, funny thread. But when I played a Knight in the beta I know what your talking about. It drove me crazy how silly it looked, hopefully they can fix these robes soon.
SkilledSeeker Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) I like them round and big... I want them real thick and juicy... Edited January 17, 2012 by SkilledSeeker
AJGeraden Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 It's worse when you have female body 4 characters, and the chest armor has something like a tunic bottom below the waist, it constantly clips through their behinds. Very annoying. I'd rather have a slight extra bulge to prevent clipping.
Kabjat Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Ok, soooo my character looked good just chilling being a Jedi Sentinel leveling and what not. I put on a certain chest piece and suddenly my butt went from flat, to phat. What the hell is going on here? It only happens on certain chest pieces on robes, it is REALLYYYY annoying after a while. I wouldn't have a problem with it if i was playing a girl character but its a male! http://i.imgur.com/a0Dys.jpg http://i.imgur.com/f8nAz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dIgjY.jpg feels awkward as hell sometimes..... You just need to embrace your sudden corpulence. It's like my son said in the car today when I picked him up sick with upset stomach and fever, "Mom, explosive diarrhea really exists....not just in Chowder." *sage nod* Seriously though...I hear you. The big bottoms on male Jedi disturb me. I feel your pain.
Gerandar Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I don't care if it's to prevent clipping issues or to save Cambodian orphans. It looks stupid and any starving artist worth a damn shouldn't have accepted it with their name on it. fixed, money talks.
SNCommand Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) I'm sure Bioware has no concern about all the strange feelings you guys get from watching the butt on your male toons Edited February 5, 2012 by SNCommand
nabrass Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Do you mean awkward as in it's strange to see such body shapes? Or, do you mean it's awkward how you're feeling about this man body before you? I would say neather, as it is very obvious that it is the robe and not the actual body shape. It looks very reminiscent to the Elizabethan era where women wore boxes under their dress to give them a large waist, it is not attractive, it is not appealing is just looks strange (on both men and women). http://www.fanpop.com/spots/kings-and-queens/images/9843855/title/queen-elizabeth-1-photo
spacemonkey Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Frustrating if you play a Guardian when all your robes have this bug and it is a bug that Bioware is aware of. Although it's a priority for everyone who plays a Knight I'm betting this is something Bioware will never feel motivated to fix. The fact that a massive thread exist on the Knight forum about this very subject has not attracted a single dev reply but a whinge thread about white lightsaber crystals does tells you all you need to know. OP mod Trooper armour, it's the only way around the Jedi Knight gear shafting.
Lord_of_Stone Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Who remembers this armor http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&biw=1366&bih=705&tbm=isch&tbnid=nkSW-MZSlkFZrM:&imgrefurl=http://skywookiee.fateback.com/KOTOR.html&docid=7Bngo0IQbm4hxM&imgurl=http://skywookiee.fateback.com/KOTOR/K2ZeisonShaInitiate.jpg&w=519&h=408&ei=PKsuT_epBofhtgfe8cncDw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=183&vpy=154&dur=1465&hovh=199&hovw=253&tx=168&ty=113&sig=110173005674089603087&page=1&tbnh=148&tbnw=178&start=0&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0
PibbyPib Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) I hate the way belts are worn *over* robes. That's what makes them so weird-- they're basically butt capes. If the robe can't be done like this, over the belt, then I'd much prefer to just have the portion of the costume that's below the robe. Edited February 5, 2012 by PibbyPib
