PeruvianPariah
Ok, soooo my character looked good just chilling being a Jedi Sentinel leveling and what not. I put on a certain chest piece and suddenly my butt went from flat, to phat. What the hell is going on here? It only happens on certain chest pieces on robes, it is REALLYYYY annoying after a while. I wouldn't have a problem with it if i was playing a girl character but its a male! http://i.imgur.com/a0Dys.jpg http://i.imgur.com/f8nAz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dIgjY.jpg feels awkward as hell sometimes..... PeruvianPariah
That isn't your bottom, thats just the robe sticking out. when I put certain robes it looks flatter though, it is only a few robes that have this problem even though they are almost the same. Do you mean awkward as in it's strange to see such body shapes? Or, do you mean it's awkward how you're feeling about this man body before you? Arkhias
BioWare, please stop ignoring this. Your "art" department's job descriptions/titles should be stripped of the word "art". Allowing stuff like this to go unfixed is a disgrace to visual artists everywhere.

rabidpiano
Welcome to how most women feel over how female characters are displayed in the overwhelming majority of games. That said, the 'booty' effect is for a very real reason. The robes have physics collision detection and there has to be space between the robe and the character model, especially in high-movement areas. You'll notice it's fitted just so it doesn't clip over the most bulky trousers available. It's unfortunate but there aren't many workarounds to that while keeping the floaty physics. This seems completely untrue. The robes only balloon out into a giant *** when standing still, you could set the wireframing right next to the body and make it look normal when idle. When you're running or jumping it looks fine with minimal clipping. How can this only affect idle standing?! When you're not moving is when you can control clipping the MOST. There's no movement or animation to worry about! Edited January 17, 2012 by rabidpiano

Or, do you mean it's awkward how you're feeling about this man body before you? Awkward as in, it shouldn't hang like that unless male Jedi/Sith routinely have HUGE butt-implants. It might be a clipping issues, but whatever the reason it looks plain daft.

Black_Rabbit
Yet, nobody seems to mind that most male models when stand idle, look like they are clenching their butt muscles to hod in their pooh. The position of their arms is too forward, it doesn't feel relaxed at all. Edited January 17, 2012 by Black_Rabbit
Arkhias
I don't care if it's to prevent clipping issues or to save Cambodian orphans. It looks stupid and any artist worth a damn shouldn't have accepted it with their name on it.
mhsiao
Your character doesn't have big butt, bioware's modeler / rigger mess up with the rigging. (set the null or skeleton too high.) The robe has cloth physical and it interact with the environment and they mess it up. Edited January 17, 2012 by mhsiao
