Hey guys, the UI problems come in a lot of threads, so i wanted to make one just about the UI and its total lack of customization/personal optimisation options.

Imho the UI is one of the most important things in a game, it defines how you comunicate with the game ; it improves or hinders your overall gaming experience.

In an mmo, imo, it is vital to be able to tweak every aspect of the UI; health bars, quick slot relocation, resize, pop ups, buff/debuff listing , reactive skills pop up icons, etc etc.

I have seen 0 response or comment from Bioware about this subject thats so vital for many of us, so please guys, if you like we could make a bit of pressure or presence at least in a thread that just focus on this subject.

thanx in advance for your constructive posts.

Yes you can to all those things. They are located in preferences, under each category you will find the ability to do many of those things you are asking for already. Maybe you need to re defined your gripe ?

No man, those r not the options we need; what we need is to be able to select a quickslot, grab it with your mouse and move it all across the screen to whatever point you like, to be able to make as many quickslots as we want and put em wherever we want, to rescale them so they are the exact size you want em to be, to be able if you want to put the buffs list behind your head if you want. Many games have this, and not only that, i want to be able to put the mini map, the chat window, the pet aka companion skill bar WHEREVER I WANT and AS BIG or SMALL as i want.

Hm... Strange... I don't think we really need that...

Resizing and relocating for better overview is okay, but the rest?

Maybe it's because I'm more casual in my play style.

But I had no problems with WoW Raids, with the normal UI configuration...

And right now I don't see any problems in TOR.

So it's not as all but a... let me say few, have a real problem with the UI...

I do understand why you want it, but I can understand Bioware, why they don't fix the UI asap.

Regards!

That is a very good example of someone who is polite and, even though disagreeing, makes a good point and doesnt troll or anything. cheers m8

I disagree that it's 'way down the list of things that need urgent attention'. I do think there are many many things that need urgent attention, and it may not be at the top of the list, but many modern MMO players have mainly or only played WoW and find it extremely frustrating to not have that level of control over the interface.

Honestly there was a scripting language for game windows in DAoC nearly 10 years ago. It's not exactly a new or foreign concept. The implementation can be really tough, but at this point we don't even need a scripting language or mods or whatever. We do desperately need UI scalability and movability though to at least put a band-aid on the overlapping UI elements.

Frankly the only UI elements that I don't seriously dislike are the map, character sheet, and inventory, and all of those still need to be movable and scalable.

Is it your first Mmorpg?

It looks like, if you think there are enough UI option.

In my experience, this game has the least customization I've seen so far.

Plus you cannot keep more than 2 windows open at the same time and they shut automatically as soon as you open a third.

No other Mmo I know has such a silly feature

You can see Bioware devs never played a MMO either.
