How is Jug dps in end game?

Heya,

 

Currently we're the most gear dependent class ingame. With two dps trees, Rage and Vengeance as you may already know.

 

Rage is currently our strongest and fastest build for PvP. We get some of the highest crits in-game with our smash ability up to 10k on low levels. :p(AOE!) But you can actually 3-5 shot some level 50 players. Hell, if you're geared and your opponent isn't you may two shot them. Just know, you are a glass cannon and often may feel squishier than a sorcerer.

Not to attention whore my video around but here's my rage pvp video if you're interested in seeing rage in action;

We have the strongest AOE in game right now, and most good juggernaut players are first on dps in warzones.

 

Vengeance is more DoT dependent and has some basic and consistant damage but it's not really fast, nor can you really outspike GG healers. It's more used for PvE right now. But you may consider it's damage underpowered compared to the other classes out there as even in this spec you're still really squishy.

 

Immortal is our wet noodle build. You can beat some players because of it's survivability. But your damage is rather meh, you will not defeat a equally geared healer. You have one skill which can crit up to 2.5k+ but that's about it.

 

To answer your other question, if you plan to be a Dps in PvE I have bad news for you. And juggernaut simply isn't the right choice for you. I love my jug a lot, but I believe it'll be a bit harder to find groups as a juggernaut dps later on unless you have a really laid-back server or friends to group up with.

Our raid brings 2 melee, me being tank and a marauder for bloodthirst. we can't spare a spot for a most likely mediocre dps compared to sorc or merc, that will spend half the only fight that matters running around (Soa).

 

I say this because this is most likely going to be the case for most guilds.

Hey man,

I was in the same situation as you about 2.5 weeks ago. Jugg DPS or Maurader DPS...I dont PVP much, so this would be purely pve.

 

While there is controversey that the jugg can dps, and there was one guy in particular that posted something kind of convincing about his damage as a jugg vs the rest of his raid, I still took the safer route of Marauder.

 

Now, while I think the Maurader is fun(Annihilation is interesting), I really really wish I rolled that Jugg instead. Their tanking is OK, and their DPS, all things being equal, is OK. Probably not as high as other pure dps classes, and without combat logs yet, we will not know. However, I still wish I rolled that jugg. I honestly would rather look at one lightsaber animations than dual. I think force push and force charge looks awsome.

 

If they ever allow Advanced Class respecs, which i dont think they will, I'll be respeccing to Jugg.

 

That being said, I still am having loads of fun with the marauder. Going annihilation is interesting with the bleed mechanics. You are all about bleeds, and when they crit, you get healed...so keeping Beserk up as much as possible, is critical if you just want to chain pull mobs and never go down.

The only comparison I really have is the solo fight event in eternity vault. I have my mob killed within 5 seconds of the other 3 people on the same mob as vengeance spec.

 

Well, the operative is actually slower than the rest of us, but he can't get his positional requirements met on that fight.

 

With that said, melee in general are at a disadvantage to ranged. I don't really see how this can change, at least for eternity vault. This is to the point a raid would simply be stupid to take a melee over a ranged.

lol, you'll reroll because your class does 5% less dps than other classes? We're about to be buffed anyway, you shouldn't always want to roll FOTM classes.

As BW has stated, they intend to make each spec balanced throughout every class. You can expect to see this within a 5-10% margin which, unless you're in a hardcore progression guild, isn't enough to reroll to a class you enjoy less.

baddies do this because they think the class is why they suck, not their poor ability to play the class. They have to roll what is OP to cover for their badness

BTW marauders only do more damage when played correctly, and seeing how they are 10 times harder to play correctly then any other class, if you are QQing about 5% damage then you are not the type of player who can play a marauder correctly
