Tenacity Posted January 17, 2012 Share Posted January 17, 2012 With the gathering skills Scavenging and Bioanalysis, players are able to scavenge or analyze dead strong, elite, and sometimes boss type mobs (droids for scavenging, beasts for bioanalysis). When you're levelling up and only have one or two strongs of the proper type in a group, there's no problem. But running level 50 flashpoints, particularly false emperor, you encounter groups that have 4-5 strong or elite droids in them, all of which are able to be scavenged. The problem is that the 'corpses' of these droids despawn/disappear in 10-15 seconds after they are killed. If they have no loot on them, this means they can actually despawn while you're still fighting, and often times you barely have enough time to scavenge a single droid before the whole group has despawned after the fight. It becomes even more of an issue on bugged mob pulls that, after defeating the group, leave you in combat for 10-15 seconds before you can start scavenging, meaning you have no time at all to harvest the resources from dead enemies. Despawn timers on dead droids and beasts need to be bumped up to 20-30 seconds minimum, from the current 10-15. When you're in a story/phase area, I dont see why they need to despawn at all, it wont be cluttering up the public world if the corpses are left there for harvesting later. At least 1 droid per pull every few pulls through no fault of my own. 15 sec sounds about like what it is set at. Needs to be at least a minute. Gwena Posted January 17, 2012 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Agreed! I have also had this be an issue with certain quests that require you to "use" a mission item to scan droids after you kill them. You certainly shouldn't be slowing down your group. Unless, of course, you've formed a group specifically to go farm in them. As a PUG group, I can see that arguement. However as a GUILD group or Friends grouping, your arguement holds no water. Since you need the resources to provide crafted items for your guild/friends. If I group with you, I promise to be out of force to heal you with, because I wasted force healing myself. Why? Because you had a problem with me bio harvesting resources I use to make the blue protos I use to heal self instead- saving force to be used on tanks, or the dps who caught the hate, or patrol that wandered by. I have no problem with scavengers or slicers either. Slicers get a nice CC against the droids, and the scavengers are sometime using grenades they made.
