Rtwozero
Hey guys. I realise that you are working on the new patch and want it to come in as soon as possible. However, not every player is in America and a lot of Guilds SCHEDULE their weekly activities around the SCHEDULED maintenance on Tuesdays. Last week you changed the maintenance on Tuesday... Didn't tell us till Wednesday.... then put it on Thursday... so effectively we lost 2 nights of game time. Get the patch sorted but please show us some respect by releasing schedules and sticking to them so that we may maximise our game time and progression. No one will get to upset if the patch comes in a little latter. They will get upset if you continue to change SCHEDULED maintenance and give us little to no forewarning. LordSkyKnight
I don't know what happened last week, maybe the different departments failed to communicate. It probably won't be a regular occurrence.
Rtwozero
Things happen, patches get rescheduled. That is life - deal with it. This is not about the patch. If you read the post it is about scheduled maintenance not sticking to a regular schedule. This is customer feedback for the developers. Negativity is unhelpful, non-constructive and unwelcome. n.b Pursang: You can add that post to your 137 other useless remarks posted on these forums lol Edited January 17, 2012 by Rtwozero
Humus_
+1 for this post. It's already a bit embarrassing that you have to do the Europe patches in the middle of the day. But make a schedule and stick to it. If you miss a deadline or target, move it to next week's patch window. Don't go implementing it on a random moment. Unless it is a hotfix that really needs to happen asap (/getdown anyone ? ) there is no reason to rush stuff. I mean you've reserved a pretty big patching window for yourself already ... 8 hours each week... that is about 5% of the time. Please just do your maintenance then. Yeah, let them publish to live a patch with some serious bugs instead of delaying it to fix them... so then you can complain about those bugs! You will survive to losing some hours of videogame playing.

I had a flat tyre on the way, this ment I could not make the scheduled 09:00 deadline. My boss is now incredibly unhappy with me because I did not stick to my shedule, therefore causing him to have to re-scheldule the rest of the work shedule. I may lose my job becasue I didnt stick to the schedule. True story

Xerda
I think it's just teething problems and will settle down in the future. The game is still fairly young and BW are still fairly new at this.

It's a reasonable request, especially for those that have limited playtime to begin with and schedule things with their guild around this. I think Bioware should consider it. /sign

To be honest its good they do the patch for europe in the day as most people are at work. Having it start on a night when everyone gets home and expects to game would be an issue. Psycholex
Oh to be honest someone needs to put a sock in it... How about this, they stick to their schedule, but they release a patch with issues they KNOW need addressing and you can instead spend those 2 nights whining about the bugs and still unable to play? Mertissielle
Oh to be honest someone needs to put a sock in it... How about this, they stick to their schedule, but they release a patch with issues they KNOW need addressing and you can instead spend those 2 nights whining about the bugs and still unable to play? Get a grip I know people who have various family or work commitments and so can typically only sit down to play a game for one night. So they negotiate with their wife or they juggle things around or whatever and decide that, hey, looks like we can get eight of us online on Thursday so we can take a look at that raid content. Cool, this week we'll mainly play on Thursday as it's the only time we're all able to make it. OH LOL BIOWARE IS PATCHING WITHOUT TELLING US. It's not about them keeping to the schedule and releasing a buggy patch or about them not needing to sometimes take emergency action - it's about communicating with players as best as possible as early as possible and trying to meet deadlines which are set. It's not like the patch window isn't exactly the same every week - the devs know the deadlines they're working to and will also know how realistic it is they'll hit them further in advance than a couple of hours. Sure, in this instance they were sidelined slightly by feedback from the PTS forum so you could argue that they couldn't have predicted it, but the OP's sentiment is just to reinforce the idea that slipped maintennance deadlines or the like should ideally be a rare exception rather than just something you expect to happen every time. People like you coming along and effectively telling him he's wrong to feel slightly aggrieved that this has now affected his limited playtime for the second time in a row are neither helpful nor constructive. Rtwozero
He means if they don't make it for Tuesday this week, do it Tuesday next week, can probably add more bug fixes with the extra time. Exactly. I have no issue with waiting for content if needed. I also have a life.... which is why I would like a regular schedule to play around as I don't have time to post dribble in the forums, like some do, and enjoy game content with a busy work and family lifestyle. Rtwozero
So here we are again..... Tuesday night is patch night and we can live with that. So Oceanic players get our 6 nights in which to schedule our game time around our rl time. Now we are more and more frequently reduced to 5 nights in which we can get to play the game. This is becoming unfair for Oceanic customers paying the same price for subscription as other time zones. I understand the need for hot fixes and applaud you for getting things fixed as soon as possible. There are a 2 suggestions I would like to add as constructive feedback. 1. Test patches more thoroughly to ensure potential fixes do not instigate further downtime. 2. Change the current maintenance start time from 2 am CST to 4 or 5am CST. This will enable a majority of Oceanic players to still have a prime time play period 7 nights a week. In addition US and EU players will only have early to mid mornings affected. This thread and post are intended to let the developers know that I appreciate the work they put into updates and fixes and to let them know that all members of the community need to be considered when making decisions that limit the availability of the game. Oceanic money is as good as others, we may be a minority but it is no coincidence that 2 of the highest population US servers are the 'unofficial Oceanic' servers. Despite not releasing the game in our regions you did allow us to import and now you are taking our coin. If you are working toward a local release with local servers for the Oceanic region some updates for our community would go a long way to addressing the 'peeve' factor about prime time downtime for us.
