Dorowena
All games I have been running my computer has no problems with running them. This game was eating my FPS down to 20 on starting worlds, really starting with Hoth, lowered my FPS down to 4. I hope that this game and community stays with it for years to come so my investment is not proven to be implemented too early. Current computer specs . . . Processor Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8600@2.40 GHz Memory(RAM) 4GB Operating system 64-bit Vista GFX Card NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G 512RAM ^-----^----^----^ These specs have allowed 60FPS in every game i have played till right now. I bought this Laptop almost 5 years ago and it has done very well for me. New Computer Specs . . . Processor i7-2760QM processor 2.40 GHz Memory(RAM) 8GB,DDR3,2 DIMM Operating system 64-bit Windows 7 GFX Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 3GB ^-----^----^----^ If these specs do not give me at least 60 fps I am going to be very unhappy. Waiting for it to ship and would like anyone with similar specs could let me know what they get.

MikeMonger
Vista... nuff said. What he said. However...this game is not well optimized. BUT, if you're getting bogged down to 4 FPS, you probably need to tweak the system, not buy and entirely new one. My current specs: Core i7 920 Crossfired ATI HD4890's 12 GB RAM (it was on sale!) Windows 7 64 bit When I first installed the game, my FPS was peaking at 12. After spending a couple of hours tweaking various settings, I now bottom out at 40, with spikes as high as 110. LionRampant
You should never have bought that Nvidia graphics card. Apart from being generally terrible value and slower than AMD graphics, the 555 itself is overpriced and not particularly fast.
AlValentyn
Eh, you're running a laptop? The mobile graphics chips are very weak compared to the same desktop ones. Why didn't you build a pc for the same amount that laptop costs? It would be cheap if you already had a monitor or tv to plug it into and far more powerful. Doesn't matter which card you get, there's hardly a difference between the 2 companies.
Dorowena
I bought a Laptop because of my job, I am NEVER home. but that is beside the point here. MikeMonger, what did you "tweak" LionRampant, i got a really good deal on a NVIDIA, by far the cheapest as per the scores.
MikeMonger
No one likes fanboys, especially gpu fanboys. That's not a particularly fanboyish comment. The 5xx nVidia cards aren't all that great. They run hotter and use more juice than the HD6xxx cards, and they cost more. This is coming from someone who'll buy whichever card's the best value at the time. I currently have dual HD4890's, but that's because I got them right before the HD5xxx's came out, and I got a fantastic price on them.

Not like they had a choice seeing as it is a laptop. @OP personally i think expecting anything to run extremely well on a laptop is setting yourself up for a disappointment really, that nvidia gpu will cause a significant bottleneck too as i bet it shares the system memory instead of having it's own dedicated onboard memory. Mostly I spent a lot of time in Catalyst, but in your case you'd go into whatever nVidia's equivalent is. A lot of it was messing with AA settings, and picking the AA type that was best. I also had to turn shadows to medium....an example of the poor optimization. I did a few other things too...including messing with driver versions. I discovered I actually got the best performance with the driver that was two versions older than the current one.

Your 4890's are far from the front of the pack when it comes to GPU's. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html and I wonder who is on top? Kreystus
I will add that most of my lag comes on the fleet. I don't expect that to change . since playing wow being in org or stormwind I had the same issues.. Overall the game runs pretty good:)
Dorowena
Kreystus, I think my current problems are mostly due in two parts: #1) I am running Vista and even in Beta the Vista users found many issues with there GFX #2) 512RAM video card is really working hard to keep up, where i see my processor is only running at 53%
silkforcalde
This game also provided an impetus for me to finally upgrade my 5 year old PC, so I built a fresh one. My stats are currently: CPU: i5 2500k 3.3ghz quad core GPU: EVGA Geforce 560 ti 448 core RAM: 8GB 1600 DDR3 Windows 7 64 bit I store the game on a Crucial M4 128GB SSD, my mobo is a nice Asus mobo. This was my first time building a PC so I had a bit of a struggle getting it all together and running, took me about 8 hours total which is pretty sad, but only 4 of those were putting it all together and then 4 hours was spent figuring out where I went wrong when I had an issue getting my PC to recognize my hard drive (if you build your own PC, make sure you only hook up the hard drive that you are installing the OS on until you have it running, don't make my mistake). The game currently runs at 110 fps in most areas, sometimes it will drop to 70 fps like when I step out of a cavern into a wide open vista. It will drop to about 40-50 fps in the fleet cantina... don't know why only there, but it's definitely noticeable. I'm currently running 1680x1050 resolution because that is the max that my crappy old monitor can display (I haven't upgraded it yet) on max settings. But we have all been there. I would recommend a better video card and Maybe upgrade to some faster memory
