NEStheONE
Alright, after trying out different specs of different trees, I've decided I enjoy Lethality the most. I'm at level 31 and now I'm at a crossroads between how I want to do things. In the end it boils down between going full into Lethality and colelcting W.Blast and stopping at Cull and going partway into Engi to get I.Probe and other perks. Here's the builds I'm comparing: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#400bZrI00ozZGbbkrrhdM.1 http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#400bcZbcZGbbkrrhdhR.1 Thoughts please. All advice is welcome and encouraged. Thanks ahead of time! Edited January 17, 2012 by NEStheONE

NEStheONE
Lethality is terrible compared to 23/16/2' Opinion noted. Still looking for advice between the two, please. From other Lethality enthusiasts, of course.
dogmeat_one
You know that you linked 2 same builds, right? And without means to measure damage comparing different build is based entirely on ones feelings. You can point out bad ones, yes. But choosing best from 2 good looking builds - that's harder Edited January 17, 2012 by dogmeat_one

Imspecial
Ok some proper numbers for you guys. Over 2minutes(using a spreadsheet you can find on Sithwarrior.com) the specs do the following dps. this assumes full buffs and full debuffs on a OPS BOSS, players will have better damage mitigation 05/05/31 - 1361dps 31/05/05 - 1287dps 23/15/02 - 1287dps They all varied by around 10dps but that is as good as a defined number as I can give. I would reccomend 23/15/02 right now , for a few reasons. 1 - Does not suffer as badly from target switching as lethality does. 2 - Does not suffer as badly from dispell as lethality does 3 - Has slightly better sustained burst than pure MM spec due to cluster bombs regen and damage BUT, and a big but here, it sucks terribly vs tanks, lethality is our only spec that doesn't tickle heavy armor classes. So you need to decide whats more important to you, being able to deal with tanks but being really weak to target swaps and dispells, or avoid tanks like the plague but not be made useless by one healer than understands what dispel does. Ayestes
For leveling up I'd go Marksman, but if you don't want to that's up to you. If you are going to play with Cull in Lethality you only have two choices. You either must get Cluster Bombs with at least 16 points in Engineering or go 31 points in Lethality to get Weakening Blast. Weakening Blast is extremely efficient damage and as such you'd be trading it for a better Explosive Probe and the Interrogation Probe ability. For PvP it's the difference between a group slow and stronger delayed burst with Cull or a single target slow and stronger sudden burst that is tied to a 30s cooldown. For PvE, the math is too close to call. Of your two specific builds, the 31 points in Lethality is the only one I'd pick.

I do see the benefit of going into I.Probe and explosives, but you've confirmed what I've been thinking. I'm gonna go the build I have here that grabs W.Blast.
