archifikoss
Get your class 1 upgrades, try not to hit your escorted ship (if on Jabiim escort), hit the Talon fighters first, make liberal use of missiles... That's about it
MarkusAtticus
My ships fine, i just cant protect the one im meant to be escorting
Reaperkin
Keep your ship fully upgraded. If it is already fully upgraded then you are either not paying attention, shooting your friendlies, running into stuff, or just completely not trying. archifikoss
My ships fine, i just cant protect the one im meant to be escorting Target the fighters first... I think that the ones heading toward you from the front of the screen do more damage. Don't forget to use your missiles (click and drag on up to 4 targets and they will be launched automatically). Try not to hit the ship. BTW are you holding down left click? Because you will fire faster that way. Although... I heard of a situation where the ship suddenly explodes at about 50% health or something, there was a thread a while back about that. I wonder if you're experiencing some weird issue... Littlejedigavin
Press "C" key on your computer. You can command Slippy and Falco to protect the ship your escorting while you kill the enemies.
Wager
Also, don't worry about friendly fire. You can't damage the shuttle. I've tried and tried, and I can't dent it, so feel free to blast away without worrying about it.

RocNessMonster
Just remember that it takes 3-4 shots to kill a fighter and it takes a second or two to contact a fighter farther away. The game autoleads your shots for you. Move on to the next target after you fired your volley at them.
Felioats
Use your missiles on turrets as soon as you see them. Right click, "paint" 4 of them and release. One missile will destroy a turret in one hit. The turrets deal a lot of damage over the course of the mission if you don't take them out, so doing it early counts. I know you don't have many missiles yet, but it will help. Just remember that it takes 3-4 shots to kill a fighter and it takes a second or two to contact a fighter farther away. The game autoleads your shots for you. Move on to the next target after you fired your volley at them. Also, do this. Do not keep firing at the distant ones until they explode. Fire enough at them to destroy them and move on to another target. It is satisfying to see them go "boom" a second or two later. If you really, really can't do it, buy your Rank 1 ship upgrades from the Starship Upgrade vendor. Don't worry about the credits -- you'll get your 40k to buy mount training fairly easily. Just don't buy too much on the Galactic Trade Network before then. Edited January 17, 2012 by Felioats
fullfordim
I failed the first couple times I tried too. You'll sink a couple thousand credits into the tear one upgrades at the vendor, but they're worth it. I like to save my missiles for the capital ship targets (especially shield generators). Enemy fighters are easy to kill if you hold down the left mouse button and quickly paint them. Also, if you're not shooting at something, or your ship is getting pounded on, hit the space bar to roll, it helps evade damage.
Acrimonus
lolwut failing on space missions. How? I never played Starfox as a kid and still found these trivial.

fullfordim
Depends on the mission, check the objectives. It's usually a combination of fighter ships (flying both at you and past you) and targets on captital ships. In the very first mission (the gray one, if you're around level 18), you actually don't need to shoot 25 fighters - it's the bonus objective - all you really need to do is take out the targets on the big space station. The turrets are around the edges and can destroyed with lasers if you paint them for a few seconds. The hangars are near the turrets, centered on each pylon, and the antennae are at the upper tips of the pylons. They can also be destroyed by lasers if you shoot them long enough, but they're harder targets to hit, so a missile at each might be a good idea. The shield generators are in the center, on top of the station. Use a missile or two on each of them since they are the toughest targets to destroy. Most importantly, don't run into anything - that does more damage than anything else. And don't forget - space bar to do a barrel roll! Happy hunting :]
