I named my characters with a combination first/last name to insure unique names. At level 32 the game tells me that I can choose a surname?! Which of course throws my entire naming scheme into the toilet, if this indeed appends a surname to the back of my name? Anyone have some insight on this. The Legacy name is across all accounts, so if you named your characters with specific First/Last combos then the Legacy name will ruin that anyway since all characters will have it. Only if it violates the Rules of Conduct D. Naming Policy When creating a character or guild name for Star Wars: The Old Republic, it is encouraged that you select a name that reflects the theme of the game. The guidelines listed below outline the types of names that you can NOT use, and apply to both player or character names, as well as guild names. You may not use any names that violate the General Rules. This includes the use of names that are hateful, defamatory, racist, ethnically offensive, obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, or any other language that is offensive in nature. You may not use names that are harassing or defamatory to other players or employees of EA, BioWare or LucasArts, e.g. EASUX, Timsretarded, and Biowaresux. You may not use names of any EA, BioWare, or LucasArts employee or service related to Star Wars: The Old Republic. You may not use names of copyrighted or trademarked characters, materials or products, e.g. Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper. You may not use names from popular culture or media, e.g. Lady Gaga or George Lucas. You may not use names that are religiously or historically significant, e.g. Jesus, Winston Churchill. You may not use proper names of areas within Star Wars for character names. How can my Legacy name be displayed? Rather than try to describe how the Legacy name appears, I will give several examples of Legacy appearance. So, let's assume that I use two different titles, "Darth" and "the Forcewalker", and my legacy name is "Legasaria". So, here's breakdown of how my name could appear: I could choose to show it as a last name. This is the default when the Legacy is first unlocked. Darth Aieny Legesaria Aieny Legesaria the Forcewalker However, I could choose to display it as a Legacy Title, where it appears under my name: Darth Aieny The Legesaria Legacy Aieny the Forcewalker The Legesaria Legacy As a third option, you can hide the legacy name so it doesn't appear. MarcusBnaud Posted January 16, 2012 Author Share Posted January 16, 2012 The problem Aliency is that I already added the surname into my names to insure that they were unique completely unaware that later on I could get that surname added more gracefully. My main, and all of my alts would have been renamed to reflect this if only I had known.... Titles, I can see being added as the game progresses, but surnames should have been offered at name creation (or a warning provided somehow). In the big scheme of things it is a minor thing, but I swear this game is killing me as a customer by small irritants like this. The end Bounty Hunter quest bugs also occurred simultaneously so I am probably just irritated in general because of that nonsense. Anyhow, thanks for the attempt at help, and have a great day! If I wipe out my main (who has the legacy title), will that wipe it out for all of my alts? Thanks! Let me transfer funds and stuff to my new toons.
