Razer Naga Dying...

Should I get the SWTOR Razer Naga, Naga Epic, or Normal Naga again.

I can't play without the Naga, since I've gotten used to it. Playing with a normal mouse is pretty dull and I'm a bit dependent on the awesome 12 button thumb pad.

The SWTOR Razer Naga looks decent. The problem I have with the normal Naga is that its a little small. The SWTOR Naga is a little bit bigger.

The Epic has the side rests that's inner changeable, just like the SWTOR version. Just black, and can have more colors.

I've had this mouse since fall/winter of 2009. And it's been perfect since then. A few minor bumps thats been fixed. But slowly its losing wiring contact or something. And it sounds a good time to get a new one.

Which should I get?

If you have nothing good to say, don't bother.

naga is only if you have the hands of a 12yr old

What a terrible mouse. Limiting potential. You must be republic.

P.S. I have the hands of a 33 year old. I can grip a basket ball with one hand. Your statement is false.

I would vote for "not another Razer". I treat my stuff very gently, and I have had some very crappy failure rates with Razer mice. I kept giving them another chance because I wanted to like them so badly.....But sadly, Razer and I were not meant to be.

On the other hand, I've been using this old Logitech G5 for years now, and it's still as awesome as ever. I'm just trying to save you some money and hassle in the long run. :]

How long did it last you? I am thinking of grabbing this mouse too. I was going to get the plain Naga. The epic one did not seem anywhere near worth the price difference. I am still on the fence about getting a Razer. Edited by Qoojo

Razer is a love hate relationship for me. I love the movement of their mice, as well as the aesthetics of their products. But I have been burned so frequently by their defective stuff.

I've gone through three Mamba's and am now on a Naga Epic which has been mostly good other than some quirkyness. The one thing that has been rock solid is the blackwidow ultimate keyboard. But if you screw up a keyboard I think you need to go home and rethink your life...

Really? Because my G5 is starting to fail after a year and a half (random cursor jumps make me sad) and I was considering a Razer Naga. And it's not like I abuse my mice. I haven't played in really RTS in some time and don't have hand ADD.

About Fall 2009, when it first released. A few minor bumps on the road. Sticky keys started few months ago. Just took it apart and put some WD-40 on the clicker. Practically good as new.

The problem right now though is that the cords tend to coil up and become stiff. I tried to loosen it up but it probably made it worse and sometimes when I boot my computer up it wouldn't turn on. Takes a few tries unplugging and plugging it back in.

This happened to my Razer Carcharias too.

I have had my Naga and a Lycosa keyboard since they came out and there still going strong. Have had several other Razer products as well not one has broken. Have worn the rubber down on the last keyboard on the wasd keys though dunno why >.>

The 12 buttons on the side, can you remap them to anything you want? Some guy said they represent the numbers on the keyboard, i guess that was just some fail trolling.

I've been looking into getting a razer naga because of the buttons, but i also know that razer products lack quality. I've had a few products of theirs but that was back in late 90's early 00's. Things may have changed. I had their first laser mouse and it broke after half a year of gaming. I guess they never tested their product for a longer period of time considering the rubber on the buttons actually wore down.

It's sad when you can use a mouse from mid 90's and it still works great today, still using it, lacks buttons etc of course, which sucks. I need to clean the mouse sensors every now and then depending on what game i play, a mmo and i can go several weeks without cleaning. If it's a fps i probably need to do it once every few days at least.

<edit> I forgot to add the Razer Anansi keyboard just seems insane. The thumb buttons are crazy good if you configure them properly.

This. Razer's quality is garbage. I have never had a razer product (two keyboards, two mice) that did not die within 6 months. Absolutely unacceptable for the price.

I'm very happy with my original WoW mouse from steel series. It's lasted me for years, very comfortable, and a better/more accessible button layout than the naga, IMHO. Additionally, it's a bit bigger. The Naga and its buttons are way too small for me.

I've had my Naga since they released it, which was in 2009(maybe 2010, can't remember) I believe. It's still going strong and I travel extensively (was in 40 states in 2011 alone) and the Naga went with me everywhere. I'd recommend it.

No he is somewhat correct, without any changes in the software to remap the keys it is either your numb pad or 1-= keys. The software DOES let you remap any button to any key.

I'm worried that some people are still complaining about the quality. Thought they would have fixed those problems considering how long they've had the problems.

I have 2 regulars (one for backup) and my GF has an epic. I convinced about 4 people from my wow guild to pick them up as well and not one of us had a problem with the mouse.

I'm really considering getting a naga and/or anasi keyboard. Just a bit too expensive and i'm really worried about the quality. Always had bad experience with razer and the quality on their products.

I game 12-14 hours a day for a living and i need a solid mouse that can handle the pressure. Just sad when my logitech from mid 90's still is going strong and my razer mouse broke within 6 months.

Great, thanks for the feedback. The reviews had me worried. I was trying to decide which gaming macro keyboard to get, and wasn't really sold on any of them, then I came across this Naga mouse. I will grab it now. It's just what I was looking for to solve those Scoundrel too many buttons blues.
