trakata
210k credits is pricey for a 10% speed boost. I'm thinking of skipping straight to the lvl 50 training and saving my money. Thoughts from more experienced players?
Evilsmurfkilla
210k credits is pricey for a 10% speed boost. I'm thinking of skipping straight to the lvl 50 training and saving my money. Thoughts from more experienced players? No, not really. You'll have to pay for both at 50, you can't skip from Rank 1 to Rank 3.
Eridanus
Doesn't the level 40 speeder take more damage to knock you off, or is it the same as the level 25?
DariuszPol
No idea. I bought it and I regret it. +10% speed is just not worth the money. Trust me.
swdrgn
It is only worth it if it won't break you. yes it does help keep you from dismounting. I was rather suprised some times I just knew when flying around a corner I cut too close to a pack of ranged mobs and I get hit but don't dismount. STGrant
lol, unless you want the cool speeders I can think of better uses for 1/2 a million credits!
trakata
Well, I'm level 40 at about 420k credits. I never buy equipment (use commendations instead). It won't bankrupt me, but it's hard to tell when skill training costs are so prohibitive... If I can't skip it for rank 3 then I will probably buy it now. paul_preib
I generally incline that if you have sufficient credits for such an item you might as well go ahead and get it right away, I figure at some point an item like that you'll eventually want to get, especially on your main so you might as well as I said get it done and out of the way to not have to consider, then you know all your credits are yours and not sort in-savings for when you are going to drop said big expense. Choatley
Like was said, you can't skip the class 2 license, so the only real added investment is the $25k credits for the level 40 speeder. If you are buying the level 50 one, you had to have the level 40 license anyway. So, it's not really any type of large investment in the level 40 one specifically. tekknikal
Unless you plan on keeping the level 25 speeder forever (even at level 50), then you would be silly to not buy your lvl 40 speeder if you have the money for it. You SHOULD be making plenty of money by level 40 and you should also easily have plenty of money to get the level 50 one. At level 40 I spent 210k on the speeder, and another 200k upgrading my ship from rank 3 to rank 5 equipment and gearing up a new companion that I just got (and subsequently stashed away once I realized he was a bad fit for my build). Then at level 50, between the level 50 skills, speeder training, and price of a new speeder, I dropped 500k. At no point did any of these investments "break" me. I'm not bragging in the slightest, because I don't feel like I'm doing anything out of the norm to bring in income. My point is simply, there are many ways to make money in this game, and if you are having trouble with that, you should look in to in here on the forums -- there are a number of people that have made threads detailing the best ways to make cash. Also as a disclaimer, I never used slicing (pre or post nerf), and I play the game semi-casually to semi-hardcore. I have a family, a job, all your typical "casual" stuff... but getting money in this game has been easy regardless of the amount of time you can invest. Ordric
I just think 10% increase @ 40 and another 10% @50 is just not enough.Make it 20% each .. so it's worth spending money

Mirthen
yeah the speed change i dont care about as much as the getting knocked off every time a mob looks at you funny. Very nice when clearing a bunch of mobs to get to a quest area, then find they respawned on your way back. Of course being an assassin i could just stealth by all of them, but that takes a lot longer
Envenra
I got 1,1mil+ - I have spend on all skills, crew skills, ship upgrades (Grade 6) and lots of repair bills from HM failures etc. How I get so much, I do not know how lol
