Trade network question

Im interested in listing some purple items for sale on the trade network but want to first see if they are available for purchase and what people are charging. I know its possible to search for the same item and its sale price in other games but I cant seem to do that in this game. What is the quickest way of doing a search and is it possible?

In the GTN interface, there are two fields you are required to select :

Category (Armor, Weapon, Mod, etc).

Then type (Heavy Armor, Modification, augment, etc)

 

(there are two other fields, quality and something else; the quality field is the color, ie green, blue, purple, etc; you can select the purple field, since you're specifically looking for something like what you've made).

 

 

Then Search. That brings up the acution listings for that particular type of item.

 

Then, at the bottom left of the screen, there is a filter box. You type in the name of what it is your'e looking for specifically, and it (theoretically; it doesn't seem to work very well) will bring up just those items matching that description.

 

Voila! You now have a listing of everyone else who's posted what you're thinking of offering, or maybe something similar. Take a look at what they are posting, and price accordingly.
