Over Leveling

So it's been talked about, but what amount of the game do you have to do to stay perfectly leveled with where you are at?

Do every class quest and side quest except skip heroics, flash points, pvp and space battles or what?

Your over-leveled now... but you won't be by the time you hit Voss.

I've been overlevelled with my Shadow and my Operative going into Tatooine. It's been a real pain, imo, because I am somewhat forced to miss out of the bonus series of some planets. For example, when I finished Balmorra with my Operative, I got the bonus series mission, but it was already greyed out before I even started. If I remember correctly, I couldn't abandon the series either. It was quite frustrating.

On the other hand, I've noticed it starting to even out. I'm going into Quesh with my Shadow now, and I can see the world levels starting to catch up with me. It seems that the few people above me are correct in saying that being overlevelled doesn't last.

As for how much to do, I'd say do the majority of the side missions and do almost all, if not all, of the Heroic Quests. They'll give you good XP and some fancy prizes. I also suggest completing all bonus missions because the ones with stages can yield some pretty big XP returns.

ok cool i was wanting to start a new toon and do every quest excluding dailys and not get super over leveled

You'll probably be super overlevelled for a while. I'd say stay away from PvP and just stick to the PvE stuff. Warzones can give you pretty big XP payoffs from little playtime, especially if it's an Imperial character, which is almost destined to win whatever match it's playing.

I'm going to do this as well once I start up my Combat Medic when my Shadow hits max level.

If you only do solo quests, and all the solo quests, youll stay within 1-3 levels of whatever content you are doing. Instancing and Flashpoints will overlevel you if you do them a lot, and Heroic quests and Space Missions will give you a notable boost as well.

I did every bonus objective, heroic and bonus series I could find. I did every FP once. I have been in 5-6 pvp matches, and I spent three or four solid space mission sessions. I skipped at least half of Tatooine and all of Alderaan.

I was overleveled the whole game, including on Voss. I haven't started Voss bonus quests (or Hoth bonus series either, actually) and I'm ready to START on Corellia with only 28% to level 50. I don't know how you can wind up with too few levels in TOR.

This is true. I do a lot of Space Combat (or as I call it, Star Fox: The Old Republic), and that gets me good XP. It can certainly be enough to push me over the mark and level up. I would just stick to quests for the most part with limited deviation.

I haven't been doing heroics, space missions, warzones or operations and I've managed to stay at the right level for quests. I'd love to do an operation, warzone or space mission every now and then but I don't want to out level my class story and sidequests.

I hope BioWare adds some sort of lessen xp option for warzones, operations and space missions. You'd still gain xp but not much so you wouldn't have to worry about out leveling.

I'd rather they add something more along the lines of an equation or proportion for Flashpoints, Heroic Quests, and regular bonus series-type material. At the moment, they have little more than an "all or nothing" vibe. If you're not within the level window, you get 5 XP and you need to suck it up. I'd rather seem them shave off a percentage to keep me from overlevelling or whatever it is that they're trying to prevent. I don't see why you would add all of those quests and missions if I can't do them all with some kind of real reward.

Around lvl 40 the places you go to you are usually underleveled, unless you run flashpoints numerous times and do pvp all day.

Not strictly true. I am currently lvl 44 and have just finished Hoth (level max is 41). I haven't done much PvP (Only Rank 6), haven't done any FP after Athiss and have miss most of the heroics after after Alderaan.

I am now ready (quest wise) to move to Belsavis.

soo much misinformation in this thread. It all depends on how you lvl and what you do. I overleveled pretty much EVERY planet by 2-3 levels. Reached lvl 50 just as i finished Voss, with all of Corellia still to do, and thats supposed to be a 47-50 zone. Mind you i even skipped every single Heroic 4 quest AND didnt run a single flashpoint AND didnt PvP. The only extra xp i got aside from normal side quests was space combat as i really enjoy it and wanted the fleet comms.
