Dabrixmgp
I want to make a decent amount of credits and I dont care about crafting anything. Been thinking about taking Treasure Hunting and Underworld Trading along with Slicing. I know everyone says slicing was nerfed but I will only use it to slice stuff I find while leveling. Is it still bad for that? Should I take scavenging instead? Just want to be able to afford all my speeders as well as being able to twink out my companions in best gear possible. Vlakrar
Slicing, if you do it yourself, is a nice little earner. It won't make you stinking rich, but you'll be happy you took it. TH + UWT are also v.nice earners, if used correctly, so the 3 together is a good choice imo
pokota
Slicing, if done correctly, yields a pretty good profit. It's easy to level, as it basically pays for itself, though at 400 the actual credit return will feel minuscule. The real draw, though, are the unlocked mission items a crit brings. Some sell for a decent amount, while others sell for a premium. They are even better if you can use them yourself. For example, right now Promethium is a sought after material on my server. A 300 UT unlock returns 4 pieces of Promethium, plus several other items. That's 40k right there from the Promethium alone. Of course, you have to keep in mind that the market is in flux, and a month from now Promethium could be everywhere. Who can say. That is the peril of choosing gathering professions for the purpose of profit.
MrPiiglesworth
Ha, I had the same idea since crafting is useless at the moment. But I went Archaeology, Scavenging, Slicing. I might drop Archaeology since it doesnt really sell that well, but the general gathering skills seem to sell better since they are needed for the general product. JamieKirby
Well, the gathering skills can all be profitable, once the crafters start doing their job, but until then, i don't see any gathering skills being profitable much, if at all.
Dabrixmgp
is it better to take a straight up gathering skill like savaging or stuff like underworld trading and treasure hunting? Also i looked up some missions on ToRhead and it lists their completion times at like 2 hours. Is that true? Do you just send all your companions out before you go to sleep or something? Romulusss
u get money from doing just about anything, u dont need to spend time on crew skills, unless its biochem. Ive been at 1.5 mil credits since i hit 50 2 weeks ago, and ive relvl'd 6 proffesions to lvl 400, bought all my inventory spaces, bought all bays in cargo hold, bought a ****lod of stims before i had biochem, repair alot since im a tank, etc..........get the idea? And all that money i got was from pvp and dailies, around an hour of work a day. If i saved money, i couldve bought my 2.5 (counting wristband) million credit speeder easily
Chaffery
Do you just send all your companions out before you go to sleep or something? Yep, some missions could take very long.

They are only an hour or so long if its from an unlockable mission that you hey from slicers
