Darkside or Lightside?

Even on the side of the Sith Empire, there's a good deal of companions that dislike Dark-side choices or like Light-side ones.

Really though, which alignment you give your character through their choices should be more about THEM. What THEY want to do. Yes, I know, this is heavy on the roleplaying side, but I find that it makes things more interesting to determine what choices to make based on a character's personality, instead of basing their alignment solely on gameplay factors. Although you could still use that; a character could be the kind to suck up to their peers, regardless of the outcome or cost, solely to gain their favor.

If roleplaying isn't your thing (especially if it REALLY isn't your thing) you can just go with what moral decisions you yourself would make.

Let's not forget you can alway put your companion away before dialogue if you don't want your dark side choices to lose affection with companions.

That too. If you don't wan't to lose affection with your companions, don't have them with you when you make those dark side choices. Probably the simplest solution here.

I admit, I've done that a lot, but usually more to pick the option that fits the character I'm playing the best. Affection gains occur from more than just the lightside/darkside choices.

And just so you know, none of my characters so far have been dark-sided, despite how far some of them push things.

Feels like cheating to me, lol. Rather send them away so they don't see my sociopathic behavior on my Jedi. My imps choices were based on personalities I gave them which always seemed to keep them neutral.

K thanks for all the help i just didnt want my companion to leave because i started following a darker path while remaining on the republic side, I just wanted to try somthing different because the republic story line is lame as all hell compaired to my Sith Inquisitor which i would be playing my my group of friends are playing republic.

Your companions can't leave or die. Pick whatever you want. If you want their affection to go up just give them gifts.

Well the good news is, if you played a Sith Inquisitor picking the choice that most closely resembles "I hate your entire geneology and I killed your dog just because eff you" will make Khem Val the happiest... thing in the galaxy.

Yes i miss my Sith Inquisitor badly but my friends are all republic so im playing with them and going to make my trooper lean towards the darkside. I find everything quite boreing on the republic side. Im on the space slug server if i could find a small friendly guild of older players id go back to my Sith in a heartbeat.
