Reason to not do cross-server queues.

Ok so I've seen a lot of crap about this all over the forums, and the people who WANT it seem to have some pretty lame reasons... Lower queue times? To many premades? Low populated realms etc. Personally, I think queue times would be fine on most servers, especially for republic. I'd predict around... 5-10 minutes maybe 10-15 on a lower populated server. As for premades, well, it's not really the biggest of issues and I've only seen a select few myself and even them are only like 3-4 battlemasters trying to grind Valor rank 70.

But the one thing that stood out to me in these arguments is the fact it'd 'kill' the community, now I don't think it would 100% kill it, but it'd definitely hurt it, alot. People are saying things like 'if you want a good PvP community you should be in a guild!!!' or 'get to know others on different realms!!!' etc. Having a good community isn't all about being in a guild, what about people on the opposite faction? I love getting to know my opponents, I know the select few of the empires best PvPers on my realm because I play against them in warzones daily, which is great, it makes it more rival and competitive.

I think cross-server will make it more of a grind, yay I beat that warzone group from XXXX server *cheer*. Opposed to how I can say 'I beat that warzone with XXXX in it :o.' It feels good man, not gonna lie. I love beating some of the best PvPers on the opposite faction in a warzone. It's even better when we know eachother and end up having a straight up 4 on 4 with our premades in the middle of hutball.

Another problem is flamers, bots, leechers etc. There's going to be a hell of a lot of them in cross-server warzones, because well, they don't care... You're on another server so why should they respect you or care how good you are? Personally this is just the way I see it... and eventually Bioware will probably give in to the community and implement cross-server dungeon finder. That's probably when i'd quit, it'd become another WoW. Afking in your fleet waiting for queues to enter groups with nobody you know.

Thanks for reading if you did... say what you wish.

Reason why your opinion does not matter.

there is no community, what you think of as community is nothing more than a delusion.

Those aren't "lame" reasons. They are VERY good reasons.

Your reasoning however, that not seeing the same enemy over and over again "kills community" is in fact nonsense. Community is the people you play WITH. Not the people you see occasionally in a WZ and shoot at.

If you want good PvP rivalries, go to the open world PvP areas. There you go. The idea that cross-server queues "kill the community" is just way over the top.

Just because you utterly ignore your own server community doesn't mean they don't exist. My guild has already created rivalries with other guilds.

You are full of crap, stop trying to turn this into WoW.

I am all in favor of cross-realm PVP.

  • I play on a low pop realm. My friends are there as well.
  • My queue times for a fight against republic? upwards of 5 days. Literally.
  • My queue time for huttbal? Upwards of 3 hours.
  • The number of level 50 PVPers on my realm? I can think of about 4. All in the same faction and on the same pre-made.
  • I am level 46.

When the level 50 bracket goes in, my PVP till go to zero. nada. zip zilch. I don't think huttbal will eveln fire up at 4 vs 1. Raise the bar. Give me the compention and give me the queue to play.
