Folgrin
I'm just curious if it's even possible. It seems like a big undertaking. People keep asking for it but I'm just wondering if, logistically speaking, if it's viable. It therotically would solve a lot of problems and enable more leeway for innovation. NoseNuggets
i would HOPE against hope that the "servers" are just VMs in a giant cluster of nodes. so that resources and troubled hardware can be moved between VM's as needed. the 'cross server' communication is purely software. WZ's would be their own VMs that pool queue data and players from a specific set of servers. when wow originally deployed this it was based on battle groups, later it was opened up to entire regions. being that TOR hosts from 2 data centers, one west and one east, they could do cross-server queuing for each site. all east cost servers share a queue pool, and all west coast servers share a queue pool.
