Knickerus
I've seen a crap load of threads about people's opinions flying around here in General Discussion. So I just thought, "Huh. I have a few minutes and a keyboard. Why don't I just follow suit." Hey, maybe I'll start an argument or change a few minds. That's always fun. Anyway, I can say very strongly that I am enjoying this game. Even with its faults, it has been the first MMO to take hold of me by the neck and scream, "YOU MUST STAY!" I've dabbled in a few MMOs before, played a bit of endgame, then got bored and left. However, SWtoR has really taken hold of me and has provided great entertainment. Even though I really love the game, there is quite a bit of validity to the arguments by both sides of the endgame war. I support the fact that there is a lack of stuff to do at level 50. I've honestly gotten bored and logged off due to the fact that I kept getting Huttball. I DID expect this game to at least have a good amount of things to do at cap ALONG with an amazing leveling experience. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, and I can't complain. All of the "I WANT ENDGAME NAO!" arguments are completely ridiculous. Most of the replies are getting pretty dumb as well. "Compare this to WoW at launch" is, imo, a terrible argument. I saw a few people say this: "It's like comparing a car that was originally released in 1980 to a car released now. Saying that they must be compared is stupid. A car released in 2012 should be compared to another car that is from 2012." The ideas were there for the taking. Why not use a few of the good ones? However, making SWtoR into WoW with lightsabers would also be completely pointless. If I wanted WoW, I would have kept playing WoW. SWtoR can be something completely different and still be great. But baking a loaf of bread still requires some of the same key components as baking a roll though. Other than that, there ARE issues. There are quite a few of them actually. All of the arguments zooming around saying that this or that is "gamebreaking" are also completely stupid. A majority of the problems are slight annoyances, inconveniences, or just sloppy work that needs to be refined. Nothing that anyone that I know has encountered has rendered playing the game impossible. Even though that is the case, people need to stop kidding themselves that this game is perfect. There are plenty of things that need fixing. SWtoR is still a fantastic game! I really have enjoyed almost every minute and I plan to continue enjoying it well into the future. P.S. I honestly don't know what I'm trying to accomplish by posting this. I really just had the urge to type up my opinions.
