Alignment system changes? "The grey Jedi"

Okay, so PCgamer.com have announced that SWTOR are planning to change the alignment system so there are rewards for "neutral players." They state that it was never their intentions to force people to choose light or dark due to rewards, they just thought it was something neat... As it was very popular in KOTOR. So they're being nice and letting people be neutral and still reap the rewards! Yey, but people have been moaning that they have already got there character to level 3 + dark side/light side... And they're passed the point of no return and find it unfair. Others have predicted this and have stayed neutral because this is what they wanted out of the game... freedom of choice.

I hope they introduce a new bar for neutral choices rather than people who just simply do nothing since technically you start off with max neutrality points.

Yeah this really needed to be changed.

 

I myself choose my light/dark decisions based on how I personally feel about them, and because of that I'm smack dab in the middle of neutral.

 

Of course seeing as I'm a Juggernaut I can't get any real moddable lightsabers besides some trash green ones from quests...I hope they patch this in soon....reaaallll sooon.

Shouldn't be the case. Even if the Commendation LS's have Alignments, there are some non-alignment ones - including from quest rewards. I used one for a while (though I am DS) but was able to pass it on to Ashara when I got her due to being non-aligned. You may just be early in but there's definitely grey options for lightsabers.

My understanding of what is in the game now: You start neutral with 0 light, 0 dark points. If you progressed up as Neutral then you would be at end game 5000 light, 5000 dark with overall score of 0 (each cancelling the other out) so if they add neutral ranks that could be Neutral Rank 5 (10k points total just spread both ways)

I support this development. Now I can relax when I make choices for their own sake instead of trying to get light or dark points.

you realize the lightsaber you START with is 100% moddable right?

 

 

that said I'm a little concerned with how they'll handle neutrality. I hope they don't treat it as an alignment but rather just introduce some compareable relics that don't have darkside or lightside requirements

Now if they started with this i wouldn't be the alignment i currently am. And for diplomacy you must pay a lot of creds + i need to drop Treasure hunting. Or i need to do flashpoints 200 times.
