Lord Beldiss - Quest on Voss

Hello Fellow Gunslingers,

Prior to heading into the office this morning, I hopped online and did some early questing on Voss.

I reached the quest "Visionary", where you encounter Lord Beldiss in person and eventually fight with him.

I am having an extremely difficult time with this encounter. My gear is up to date, and Guss' gear, my only geared companion, is decent. However, I am only getting him to roughly 50% on each attempt. This is with a med-pack, 20 minute cool-down, and me getting the prerogative (i.e. attempts after the first one, when I don't have to talk to him but can merely engage as I wish).

I am interrupting (both with our actually interrupt and by using Aimed shot within 10 yards / pulse detonator), keeping Dots up, have Guss' healing "stance" on, etc.

Anyone have tips for this fight? Just bring friends, I suppose?

Personally, I find these fights easier with a DPS pet. Risha seems to work better in all situations for me. For one, you can let her start the fight, allowing her to tank for you to start. Second, since you're putting out a lot more damage, things die faster. And finally, if you need to do some kiting, your companion can still put out enough damage to kill things quickly.

Maybe have Gus start the fight. Once he has aggro, hop in. Make sure you focus any adds down first.

I kited him to death with Akavi out. I started the fight at the top of the stairs to the right of him, and I kited him up top. When he gets up top or he leaps on you, you can knock him off and continue the cycle.

It's what worked for me. I was SS spec at the time though so I had the KB on aimed shot and reduced legshot cool down.

I am also told that if you knock him off of the top of the stairs and his back hits the wall he dies from the fall, but I can't confirm this yet.

Thanks for all the tips folks.

It sounds like I should have a DPS companion out and plan to kite. Guess i'll need to go buy some gear for Risha or Avaki .. seeing as I have never used either of them 0.0

Aside from the rifle you should be able to move Guss's gear to Risha. They use the same type of armor, and until 50 you do not get to heavily into specific stat stacking. You'll gets need to get a rifle for her.

So people say to kite him, when as a smuggler/saboture most of my attacks are based on crouching in place. Nice design by Bioware to gimp our primary attacks.

What level were most of you when you did this fight?

So I completed this and never came back to say thank you or give some insight.

This is the hardest fight I encountered up to and including the last fight we have in our class line. The issue here is that he has a seemingly very short CD gap closer that tele-ports him to your location, making kiting much more difficult than normal.

What I had to do here was the following:

1) Start up on the stairs to his right

2) Start with Aimed shot / Vital Shot

3) Interupt the first cast of his teleport ability (not sure what it is called, its not a leap)

4) When he starts to cast second one, strafe right and LoS it

5) continue up stairs and around

6) Stand near edge - use instant shots and keep vital shot up

7) Continue to use the edge of the platform to LoS each cast of teleport

8) In the event he gets one off and reaches you, use pulse detonator to send him back to the ground

This worked for me. Was a very frustrating fight but finally nailed it down.

This guy was as normal as any other elite I faced; I'm a level 44. So basically:

1- Start of by the stairs (I didn't) or anywhere else, depends on you.

2-Whatever CD he uses (or whatever the attacks that take time to do are called) are used stun and/or disrupt them. Especially his spin attack, it will hurt you significantly

3-Make Guss heal you (if you use another companion that's fine, it worked for me with Guss)

4-Just spam all of your powerful abilities (I didn't use any debuffs, butif you want thats fine), and use Cool Head to restore some energy.

5-If you do it the way I was trying to explain you should be fine.
