quickshotxx
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW3b1CJ0xDo SW:TOR 1080 - *REDO* Proper Graphics Comparison http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leaH3juvA9c A simple little graphics comparison done in 1080 on a decent rig. Should give people a idea what each setting by itself does and what it changes and how it looks. Performance wise every setting alone did not effect my frame rate at all (110fps always) untill setting everything to high which resulted in 76fps. I think the games max is 110 but im not 100% sure on that. Overall I hope this helps people decide if turning that one setting up is worth it or not. And if a upgrade would even be worth it. I have gotten used to running maxed but if I had only ever played on low I dont think I would feel all that left out, Still a very decent looking game. I think for overall feel turning grass & tress to 100% and shaders and shadows to high would be best. bloom,af dont seem to have much of an effect. I wonder how much better the game would have looked with the full high res textures we now know are being withheld from us COMPUTER SPECS *Windows 7 - 64 Bit *Tower: Cooler Master 690 *Processor: Intel Core i5-2500 3.3ghz OC'ed to 4.7ghz *Ram: 8GB 1600mhz g.skill ripjaws *Graphics Card: Ati 6850 x2 crossfire Oc'ed to 930/1150 *Mother Board: Asus P8P67 *Power Supply: Antec current gamer 620watt *Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM Edited January 13, 2012 by quickshotxx

Electroflux
Textures hardly changed which is sad. Textures on player models, for me, with everything set to high, look terrible.
mcfabulous
is that supposed to be a video of hope? You said its on highest settings possible yet look at it, not even something as simple as the circles on the legs are clear.. Its literally like looking at a wall of pastel Maybe I should add that I'm a swtor/kotor/kotor2/sw in general fan boy, but this is just stupid. I think gw on my compaq in 2000 or w/e looked better tbh. Edited January 11, 2012 by mcfabulous

I think gw on my compaq in 2000 or w/e looked better tbh. Smaller environments, WAY less draw distance, crappy cell animation at distance, polygon counts no where near as large, horrid lighting. as much as swtor doesnt look brand new and amazing, you would have to not understand a thing about graphics design if you think swtor is worse lol. There is a lot more to graphics then just textures and details. I agree I could go look up old kotor screenshots and find some that look better then swtor.. at first glance. But after looking deeper all the issues I stated above shine through. I dont think swtor has great graphics but they are much better then kotors or swg. imo Edited January 11, 2012 by quickshotxx

stephenjohnp
Just the fact that you set textures to High is lol worthy.
quickshotxx
Just the fact that you set textures to High is lol worthy. Meh, I get 60+ fps at all timse so I dont really care. I open mmos and max them on a rig like this. Doesn't really matter that high doesn't do anything. I care when I lag
LeSamourai
Textures hardly changed which is sad. Textures on player models, for me, with everything set to high, look terrible. Yea I honestly see a negligible difference when switching from low to high (medium does nothing at all). The only difference I see between my rig running everything on high vs my 4 year old laptop with everything on low...is more stable fps (~80 vs 30)

quickshotxx
Id rather they worked on load time myself. The game uses very little gpu/ram/cpu yet I have 10-25second loads... not cool
quickshotxx
Enough people have asked that I am going to do another video like this, but with more options and a proper side by side and transitional comparison. Also many asked to do a better location. I chose the spot in my first video because it had distant grass/trees, lots of shadows and characters and close/far textures. But since so many asked is there any suggestions for the next spot to test? Edited January 13, 2012 by quickshotxx
