Krocha Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 So I'm a former WoW player who has switched over to SWTOR and am having a great time. I think the game has enormous potential and am looking forward to watch how the game grows. To that end there are a couple of things I'd love to see added at some point (mostly things I miss from WoW.) In no particular order I'd like to see: - An in game barber shop similar to WoW. It would allow you to (for a cost) change your looks, both hair and other items currently only available on character creation. - An ability similar to WoW's Transmogrification in which in game gear can be altered to look like any piece of similar gear. - An out of game pay for services option where you can possibly, change your Race or "Side" (e.g. Switch from Jedi Shadow to Sith Assassin), transfer to a lighter populated server, Change your name, etc... - At some point I'd love to see a story arc which included contact with the Yuuzhan Vong. We know from there info that at least one Scout had reached our part of the galaxy almost 500 before the current settings time. So, that's my wish list start. Anyone else care to add on?
voigtboy Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 FPF - flashpoint finder.... /1 healer lfg spamming across multiple zones is no fun..
Yukondoit Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 No to all of the above, especially the Vong. Leave their lore as it relates to the NJO timeline. Canderous' comments in KOTOR should remain as a hint/nod to the Vong. And that's it.

BapaJones Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I am also a former WoW player, as well as a long list of other MMO's (including the notorious SWG Pre-CU/Post-CU/Post-NGE but I digress). I think BioWare has done a fantastic job with this game. I am having a blast, and find myself very engrossed with the character driven storylines. Good job BioWare! I applaud all of the OP suggestions. They are excellent thoughts/ideas. A couple of things that I would like to see are: 1.) A better mode of travel. Let me buy a speeder or something. Running around on foot until Level 25+ is monotonous. Especially, if you level more than one character. 2.) An advanced crafting/gathering system (with usefull/sought after items). Let the players drive that economy! 3.) Banded/Tiered PVP. Similar to what Warhammer online had. Sure I can go get beat up by Level 50's in PVP, but is it any fun? Just a few thoughts.

SWTOR is set 3000 BBY...so yeaaahhh...no.

Ok payed transfers and barber shop i dont mind. Now, the transmogrification system just NO. SWTOR has a much better system in place where you can choose any orange item and just upgrade them to maximum level. It also gives value for crafting professions and reverse engineering. The system is fine and while it might need tweeking it is vastly superior.

Check out EQ2 for one of the best system, imo.
PrestigeWWide Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I'm a little older so I played the first Everquest for a few years, obviously this game is taking a lot of different ideas from a lot of different MMORPG's that came before it. I alwats liked the Alternative Advancement from Everquest. It just made the characters all that more different. I was never a hardcore gamer and that game was always for the hardcore people so I never got to do the AA side of it. I guess the skill tree is this games version of it but it isn't really the same
Krocha Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Yuuzhan Vong Invaded roughley 25 ABY. SWTOR is set 3000 BBY...so yeaaahhh...no. Actually they fully invaded in 25 ABY but in 3,997 BBY their probe creatures first arrived and by 3,963 BBY at least one of their scounts had reached Wild Space and were encountered by a group of Mandalorians, becomming the "first contact" with the Known Galaxy.

I really like the SWTOR system EXCEPT for the fact that 95% of light armor is crap looking compared to what some of the medium and heavy armor looks like. It's also almost impossible to find modifiable orange pants for light armor. So I guess if they took care of that then it's great.
