Fraccles Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Just hit level 50 and...what do I do? I thought I'd PvP. So I go to the PvP vendor and check out the gear, fine. Done maybe 10 warfronts now but all the Commendations I'm getting aren't spendable at the vendor unless I want to purchase level 40 gear. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong guys but they're the ones in Fleet and sell trooper stuff so I think they're right. Where do the different PvP Commendations come from and how do I get them? Also, I tried getting a group to do Flashpoints but then I realised I don't know which ones I'm supposed to be doing as level 50. Any help here would be great. All the flashpoint droids around fleet offer me flashpoints but nearly all of them are grey level quests from the Flashpoints I didn't bother doing whilst I was levelling. Why do these npcs offer me something with no benefit for myself? It's confusing when you're trying to find out where you should be going and a level 15 quests is marked on the map the same as a level 48 one. Essentially; now I am level 50 what do I do to get gear? Which flashpoints do I run and wear are they? Nothing I can make from Armstech is better than my custom weapon with level 47 Mods in it which seems like i've just completely wasted my time. It just feels strange, I've got to level 50 and the game hasn't been like "you should go here" I went to Ilum but the only quests there were for flashpoints. No LFG list or channel is crazy. Seems like if you missed beta or headstart you're out of the loop a bit. Additional: is there a way to NOT queue for Huttball? Really dislike it.
Auhfel Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I have something you could do, if you want to help me out...
Auhfel Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Oh, and I think some of the pvp gear costs Merceneary Commendations, which are purcheasable at one of the PvP vendors for warzone zommendations.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong guys but they're the ones in Fleet and sell trooper stuff so I think they're right. There is a PVP vender in the combat training side of the fleet he sells what are called "mercenary commendations" it costs 30 warzone commendations to buy 10 of these mercenary commendations. Start playing warzone save up your warzone commendations and then start stocking up on a good mix of warzone and mercenary commendations. In order to buy the top LVL pvp gear you must have x amount of both commendations to buy the items you want. i hope this helps and if not i have listed a link below that you could read if you need to have anything else cleared up. http://www.gamezone.com/editorials/how-to-buy-pvp-gear-in-swtor
strangelove Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 http://www.gamezone.com/editorials/how-to-buy-pvp-gear-in-swtor Thanks for that link! Was wondering about commendations myself.
Fraccles Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 So there's a vendor in the home base? I got kicked from a warzone by trying to shop lol
Raani Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Doing PvP dailies gives you Champion's bags, which contain commendations and a chance to get a token which you can trade for a piece of gear (Centurion or Champion quality, I think). Past Valor rank 60, you'll be able to get Battlemaster bags. ____________________________________________________________________________ I posted a full list of flashpoints yesterday, but it got a bit buried. Here is the thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=152344 If you find it useful, keep it bumped so people can consult it. There are 3 normal flashpoints you can do at 50, and 6 hardmode flashpoints. The vast majority of instances are at the Fleet, and two of them are on Ilum. If you missed some of the lower-level ones, it's probably a good idea to go solo them just to see the story and how the encounters work. __________________________________________________________________________ A couple of things you could do would be dailies on Ilum and Belsavis, getting your level 50 matrix cube (very much worth it, although it could be a long adventure), and leveling a different class to see their story.
