OorahDoc
Saying this has got to stop, the game has been out a month now. 50 was easily attainable without no lifing it. This whole, "i played 3 hours a day, and weekends and i've only got a 17" is just dumb. So you have roughly 60 hours of game played and 17 levels to show for it. What the hell do you do? Just stop it already, and no, i'm not mad bro.
Remamian
People get out of the game what they put in. I agree with you, I was 50 the day before launch, its nice yes, but it was too quick. I don't want EQ timeframe for leveling mind you but slower would be better. It would be different if it was like GW's and the entire game was mostly end-game stuff.. I've played at least 3 hours a day since the game came out (closer to 10 per day the week after Christmas) and I'm only level 38. Yes, I've done pretty much every quest on every planet I've been to so far. I'm not rushing along.
Vitellius
That's great. Do you have a suggestion to change it, or are you just gonna vent without a solution? Here, i'll suggest something. Space dailies is a ridiculously easy way to get XP. I don't mind the extra money, but the XP's are somewhat out of control. How about a new "space XP" system that offers the ability to do (insert cool thing here). Make it separate from level XP. I think SWG had something like this. Jediwran
If you were 50 before release saying you were ahead of the leveling curve would be an understatement. I doubt most players have even hit 50 yet, so most of you complaining about this, are kind of hardcore players (Or spacebar'ers...which most are not). Qlimitus
I know no lifers that hit 50 in 4 days LOL i mean 4 DAYS?!?! yes.Its sad that those people didn't have anything to do in those 4 days but alas,it doesn't matter when you hit 50,because you can only go so far before you have to stop and look at the scenery.Soon everyone will be 50 and your achievement will be but a whisper in the wind " he was level 50 first " YAY throw them a parteh !!!! They will be remembered for who got to level 50 first.. Maybe they will name a server or planet after them? I love sarcasm. Pwnberries
I have no patience and less sympathy for all these people that rushed to level 50... through more than 90% of the content... either by skipping quest story line or lvling exploits... only to sit in fleet and spam /1 lfg for some lvl 50 content... then come to the forums and say end game is lacking and they need and LFG tool. You guys jipped urselves. Go play another game while the rest of the community, that is enjoying the game, catches up to you. I have 3 toons around level 30. I never have a hard time finding a group. All the zones I'm in have 50-100 people online and I am enjoying the game immensely. See you in a few weeks... maybe xD HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Judging by the spam I see on my alt in places like Dromund Kaas or Nar Shaddaa from players unable to complete their class quests without assistance, I'd say there are a lot of players in this game who are just bad at it, and therefore they think levelling is extremely difficult and time-consuming. Striker
Leveling speed is the only potentially gamebreaking issue with this game. I wish it was slower, but they will never do that. I hit 50 with 8 1/2 days /played. I maxed biochem/bioanal, helped friends through group quests, but only did like 6 flashpoints. Around rank 11 valor in pvp. Minimal space missions. I would have prefered for 50 to come around the 15-20 days /played mark.

I'm level 50, have been playing around 3 hours a day, with a couple days where I played 7 or 8 over the holidays. I have skipped maybe half a dozen conversations, mostly in flashpoints where it didn't do me any good because no one else skipped. You have three toons around level 30. In the time it took you to get two other toons to 30, you could have had one toon to 50. Not everyone is an alt-whore. Also, refer to my sig. Jhirrad
Leveling in this game is actually really good. Of other MMO's I've played, this actually has the best flow so far for me. I'm level 24, have played probably around 35 hours total, I listen to all the dialogue, have had a bit of AFK time contributing to my total time, but it's been good. I constantly have enough quests at my level to get through the level, but I don't have a ton of them to the point that I'm VASTLY outleveling what I'm doing. I'm getting close to that (start Nar Shaddaa at level 24) but even so, that's a lot better than say Aion where it was a horribly painful grind, or WoW where it's all facerolling. JudgeKen
For me and mine, the leveling speed has been fine, and could be a little faster -- I play 2-3 hours every day, and more on the weekends, with a group of friends, and have since 2 days before launch -- We're levels 39 - 42 in range now. We do alot of warzones, and don't spacebar cutscenes, even on repeat flashpoints.
MackumDog
The latest patch has a reset for all those level 50, its setting you back to the level of the lowest quest you skipped.
Kalthorine
There is a solution that would be acceptable to all sides of this argument if we can get enough people behind the idea and persuade Bioware to introduce it: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=71335

Most of the bonus quests, actually. Reason being, I really didn't want to be level 47 when I hit Alderaan.
SlayerGopher
Honestly, I'm not sure how anyone hit lvl 50 in such a short period of time. I've been playing since the 16th of December with one toon, a JK and I'm only lvl 25. This is with watching all the movies, quests (class and Side), flashpoints. I think the leveling so far is pretty good, however, given that I'm a virtual newbie to MMO's I have nothing to base anything prior against it. I don't want EQ timeframe for leveling mind you but slower would be better. It would be different if it was like GW's and the entire game was mostly end-game stuff.. Or is it possibly how you played? I had 5 days of early access and would say I have been putting in on avg. five hours a day since launch that's a total of 24 days I believe. That's 120 hours. My assassin is at lvl 30 and have a Sentinel at 24. Given it takes longer to get to next lvl the higher you get my guess is my assassin would be high 30's, maybe 40 if all I did was that. So we'll say 120 hours to 40 for me. You got there the day before launch. If you were at my pace I guess it could have taken you 5 days IF you played every hour every day up to then. I've been going through the game basically doing every mission as I come to them. I suppose a person could jump on and PvP there way to 50 in no time, but it would seem you'd really be missing the boat in terms of the content that's there. Every MMO has those types of players, but what u see in racing to the lvl cap as fast as you possibly can, foresaking the content you would have had to foresake to do it that fast, is beyond me. Stop and smell the roses dude.

I was hoping and thought it would, but I continued leveling at a rapid raid through the 30s and 40s. 49-50 only took 4 hours completely unrested. See, I have no problem with you saying the levelling curve isn't too fast since you admit you're new to MMO's. The thing a lot of the MMO newbies don't seem to realize is that once you've learned how things work in one MMO, your learning curve for the next MMO is cut to a fraction. Think of how much time you've wasted just figuring out things and how they work in an MMO. Understand that for someone like me, the crafting system was transparent and took me about 5 minutes to figure out. How to buy and sell from vendors, what kind of stuff to sell on AH, how to sell on AH, how quest chains work and how to acquire gear, how stats work, what kinds of skills work in which situations, rebinding keys, all of these things take an experienced MMO'er a fraction of the time it would take someone brand new to gaming. I still remember the first time I logged in to an MMO I had no clue what I was doing. It's a little easier for you than it would have been back with EQ, because this game does a better job of directing you, but for those of us who have played other MMO's there is literally nothing about TOR that had a learning curve of longer then 5 minutes or so--and that was for the most complex systems within the game, like crafting. PFifteyOneD
161 hours at level 47. the leveling speed is fine. maybe people should, you know, take their time and not rush like morons to endgame. I've played other MMO's before and was VERY efficient at leveling in WoW (before heirlooms, loved heirlooms though) and the leveling in this game is spot on imo. I am starting to notice this as well. It seems the amount of xp you get from completing missions scales up along with your lvl. I just don't get those that skip a lot of content or are just there to find the fastest way to get xp to get to a lvl cap. It makes even less sense on a new MMO when there's less end game content. If you are only 32 then you are doing something wrong. 50 is easily obtainable in 10 days or less (the more dedicated can reach it in 5). The point is well made by TONS of people.
