i'm trying out being a sith warrior, and i've reached level 10. i'm still on korriban, but i've finished the story quest, but i have a bunch of left over missions to complete. i want to chose my advanced class, but i think i need to speak with a trainer, i just don't know who, or where. i was curious if i have to leave korriban, or if i do, can i choose my class and come right back?

You do have to leave the planet and head to the fleet in order to choose your advanced class. I'm nearly positive though you should be able to head up to the fleet, make the choice, and still get back down to the planet in order to keep questing.

I know they've changed some things recently so I'm not sure what the requirements are for using the shuttle to the fleet. If you have to just be lvl 10 or higher or if you need a specific quest.

Your final class quest will be to go to the fleet. If you have that quest, head up to the fleet and you'll be greeted by a quest giver who will instruct you where to go to get your advanced class.

After you have taken your advanced class and maybe picked up some crew skills, you can head back down to Korriban to finish up your quests.

That said, you won't be missing out on much if you finish the Korriban quests prior to heading up to the fleet. You aren't penalized for not getting your advanced class immediately.

i figured that, i just want to have the max levels as the advanced class. or does it make a difference?

It doesn't matter. You'll still be able to buy the same skills and get the same number of skill points. If you don't get your AC until 11 or 12, you'll just have 2 (or 3) skill points to spend as soon as you pick it.

You need to be at least lvl 10 before you speak to the Advanced Class trainer on the Imperial Fleet, but it makes no difference if you continue leveling on Korriban and go to the fleet after completing all quests with your base class - you will get the credit for the already-earned skill points to put in the Advanced Class skill tree.

The only time it gets confusing is if you whistle through the Korriban quests and get to the fleet without hitting lvl 10 first. Then, the NPC will tell you that you are not ready.

It doesn't make a difference. Say you hit level 15 before getting your advanced class. Once you do get your advanced class, you'll have 5 skill points sitting and waiting for you to spend. Alternatively, if you get your class change at level 10, you will only have the 1 point to spend in your skill tree.

You do get a new class skill or two when you change to your advanced class; however, you won't need them on Korriban as the content is very easy especially since you probably have your companion already.
