Gilbara
You can do this in LotRO by right clicking anyone name in the chat and option list pops up with "inspect player" as one of the options. This is very helpful for forming groups quickly. Many times you are forming a group and someone says in chat, invite me, but they don't say their class. It's simple and quick to right-click name and inspect them. Can we get this feature added?

Sometimes people want to do flashpoints at the point RIGHT WHEN THEY GET IT, and that just really doesn't work in a lot of group dynamics. Or sometimes we need a class that can CC Humanoids. Either way, it's rough not having a quick / easy way of 'searching' someone. Though you can do /who, then type their name into the Filter at the top to make them the only result, I still feel this is a bit of an annoying way. At the very least, this workaround exists, which is nice.

SodaOfYoda
Yeah I was surprised there was no option similar to this. You would think that's a common place thing. Even Aarkmud has it. A *MUD*. The crap who window is worthless as it is, don't need to stress it even more. Edited January 10, 2012 by SodaOfYoda
SaarkVanSoor
That feature is already there to a limited capacity. I do it all the time. The problem is that it only works if you are in the same "zone" as the target player. So if you're in fleet, but the target is in the hangars, it won't work. Ituhata
I guess we use the force to pull that one off.
Drakos
Or you could ask "class?" Novel concept, I know.
Fanyen
I don't think "inspect" is the right word. I think we should have a "Who is.." option when right clicking a name in chat which will bring them up in the social /who window Of course the /who command needs some work as well, since typing /who <name> doesn't do anything except bring up the social window. Uruare
As hardmode FP's and operations become more heavily done every day by more people, we're going to want all the PUG-favoring tools we can get. Knowledge easily acquired with a click-click-glance of this quantity is nothing but good for keeping things a bit more open to all. If it's a PITA to tell if these 9 people that answered your call to fill 3 DPS, 4 tank and 2 CC spots in an operation are suited at all for what you're needing, you're far more likely to not PUG fill them at all. You'll go with who you know, if you at all can. Lack of good ease-of-organization tools makes for very closed off, PUG-unfriendly endgame content. Do not want more of that. Not that this feature would single-handedly prevent such, but...not having it won't help. Having it at least might. /Signed Edited January 10, 2012 by Uruare
Propanelgen
In theory you should only be able to inspect players close to you, ie in visible range. So it makes sense that you cannot inspect off their name in the chatwindow.
