BeldarrofLotro
I usually play this game on my home PC. When out of town for work my only choice is the ole work laptop. For some reason though, I can log in, but lag so bad that i can barely move, making it unplayable. I can still play LOTRO (lowest settings) why not this game? Any advice??? laptop specs: (not the best but will play other mmo's) Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T6570 @ 2.10GHz 5.6 3.4 Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB1695 MB Total available graphics memoryDedicated graphics memory 64 MB
Patizor
That happens to me, too. All I can think of is that the scenery is so detailed it takes a lot of work to load it up. Once it renders all the background I can move again.
Ganadorf
I'm not a computer expert, but it seems that SWTOR's minimum system requirements aren't really indicative of what you actually need to run the game You probably won't be able to play SWTOR, unless you upgrade your laptop/get a new computer; or BioWare optimizes the game better
Gehoornde
Dedicated graphics memory 64 MB This is your problem. Not to be rude, but why would you ever think you can run this game without a real graphics card Edited January 10, 2012 by Gehoornde
BeldarrofLotro
Like I said its my wrk compter for use out of town, not mine. I use my home PC to play at home. I jut dont unerstand why LOTRO has like 30 graphics options that allow me to play on the road, where as TOR has maybe 6 or 8? Just looking for a solution to give me some playtime when away from the real gaming rig.
Oneeach
LOTRO is old as far as graphics go. While SWTOR doesn't need a high end computer to run, that work laptop just isn't up to the job.
lasounds
LOTRO system requirements: Minimum System Requirements O.S.: Windows® XP Processor: Intel Pentium® 4 1.8 GHz or equivalent RAM: 512MB Video: 64MB NVIDIA GeForce® 3 or ATI® Radeon® 8500 Disk Space: 7GB available DirectX: DirectX® 9.0c Optical Drive: 2X DVD ROM Connection: 56kbps Modem TOR systme requirements: MINIMUM-------------------------OS: Windows 7 Windows Vista with SP2 Windows XP with service pack 2 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0GHz or better AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better RAM: 1.5 GB or greater (2 GB for Windows Vista or Windows 7) PCs using built-in graphic chipsets, 2 GB RAM is recommended Video: ATI X1800 or better NVIDIA 7800 or better Intel 4100 or better 256MB minimum video RAM Shader 3.0 or better fully compatible graphics card DVD-ROM Drive: 8x speed or faster Disk Space Required: 30 GB huge difference between these games. thats why your work laptop is c****** out on istself.
