Bauric
I just have a very quick very basic question. Why would a content patch be dropped before the games current bugs have even been ironed out? Not that I mind new content, by all means I welcome it, but as it stands there are so many minor little bugs here and there that will just drive people completely bonkers, shouldn't those bugs be fixed before new content is released? Discuss, and trolls you too are welcome to this thread.
TheEwokKiss
Cause they wanna save as many subs as they can. But who wants to play this buggy as game past the 20th.
NaimiIflya
Content and Fixes, Different Teams. They've got more than 5 people working on this... they have to have 50-100 people on SWTOR team, probably more. Artists, Writers, and Designers... they don't fix bugs, they make content. Hell, I'm working on a mobile game, there are 16 artists on the project. Edited January 10, 2012 by NaimiIflya

Don't ever, EVER demand bug patches to the exclusion of content patches, especially when they are minor bugs...or complain about getting content. Major, game-breaking bugs, by all means those should be fixed ASAP. But you will always have bugs in an MMO. You cannot sacrifice content patches for unending bug patches. That is all. /exit Edited January 10, 2012 by VorpalCheese
Blackhalo
Bugs are always going to exist. So if we waited for any game to be bug free before we obtained new content then we might as well find something else to do. I do not work in their industry but I am guessing it is like most things; you can only have so many people working on a particular project at once. To many hands in the cookie jar and the jar breaks or you get no cookies. I would thing that the team is divided up. Some people are developing content, some are writing / testing fixes and improvements, others may be giving foot massages. The point is bugs are a completely separate monster than content development (In my speculation).

krisslanza
Kind of one of those things MMOs have to do. Even if they have bugs - bad ones - they have to keep making new content. Otherwise the game stagnates, players leave, subs go down, they lose money, etc. etc. But yes, different teams. While the bug fixing team works on squashing bugs, the content teams are working on new content.

Leggomy
There are some very very very very bad bugs in the game atm. There arent any real major bugs as far as gameplay goes. Not enough to warrant leaving everyone at lvl cap with nothing new to do. Ive read about issues people have but I have been able to work around most using google to search about it. I keep hearing people talk about all these bugs but its odd none of them affect me (or anyone I know) and most of them are simply user errors. I miss my Gnomish blood mage and Mekalia...
areto
Because there are about a billion bugs and they take time to fix. And possibly because they are desperate to release some good news.

So getting stuck in your ship, not being able to loot boxes, ability delay, game crashes, end game bosses being bugged. I am sorry most of these have been confirmed by BW, so not sure how you can claim they are user errors, unless you are a fanboi, even in direct opposition to bw themselves. Bauric
Here is how I see it. You can not release a content patch without first fixing all the game mechanic issues currently in game. Some hard modes are so aggravating at this point due to random boss/loot/mechanic bugs it is seriously making people not want to do them. Considering there is only 6 HM's in the game right now and only about 3 are worth while anyone's time. Like I said I am all for content by all means don't stop making new stuff, but c'mon. Fix the bugs causing people that are at 50 to not enjoy the game. I'm not saying fix ALL the bugs, but fix the ones that make it impossible to do certain "end game" content that is currently in game.
