councelor vs sorcerer

Today I rolled a counselor to see the differences with my sorcerer. Initially I thought there was none but then I notice that all the counselors skills (which are the same as inquisitors) deal kinetic instead of elemental damage. Now since armor adds to kinetic damage resistance but not to elemental damage resistance doesn't that create a disadvantage for the counselors? Note that I have not reached level 50 with any of this classes so i am just asking.

I just think of a counselor trying to kill a juggernaut with 50% damage reduction and running out of force in the process.

Sorceror attacks deal energy damage, not elemental damage. Kinetic and Energy are the same type of damage and both are mitigated by armor. Some attacks in both trees are internal which bypass armor (such as Weaken Mind/Affliction instant DoT). None of those are elemental damage though. TL;DR - it's all the same for both Sorc/Sage.
